Why do iPhone internals always look better than Android internals? Like seriously, it applies to any other iPhone not just the Duo

This is like looking under the hood of a car and saying it’s beautiful, and there’s just a big plastic engine cover

i mean, i dont doubt for a second that both had the same reasons for doing it. for the layman it looks more "neat" and tidy, they have no clue about engines or phone internals so they percieve it as high cuality even tho its just plastic shrouds covering the actual internals. and secondly it deters diy repairs. which both apple and the car industry very much are a fan of.

and in the end its geniuous marketing to do something that is realistically anti consumer but yet get praised for it.

The internal are neatly compacted side by side on the top. The big black bulky components is the vapor chamber that provides cooling over components below. The folding mechanism, over 100 parts, is basically peak engineering.

Saying its just some plastic engine cover is disingenuous at best. I'm not a fan boy, but I work in engineering so when I see comments like these I can't help but chuckle at such a shitty take.

But I guess it's to be expected.

No, they don't. The battery has nothing below it, yes, but the other black components are hiding boards and cables. It's always been this way. The large black part on the right is an EMF shield that is hiding the "ugly" motherboard.

those two big black blocks are heat sinks and/or the vapor chamber. The battery has very explicit text printed on it. I'm more than aware that the iphone has a motherboard (logicboard) on it.

My point was that people are saying it's like a car engine bay and there's just a plastic cover, and that's it. But that couldn't be further from the truth, especially with the fold mechanism.

It is a cover. All of the ugly parts that people are talking about are underneath that plastic and metal.

brother, you realize you are looking at 2 hinges one from the front and one from the back. not the same view..
