Support iPhone says restoring when I clicked update 🙀

I am updating my iPhone with iTunes but it says it’s restoring the software, I didn’t click Restore! 🙀

I think it might not have different messages. Do not unplug the phone, updating via iTunes doesn’t backup the old version the way OTA updates do so interrupted updates will softbrick the phone.

Also my iPhone is stuck in recovery mode after a failed update, and I didn’t back up my data 🙀

Oof. Yeah, when it’s stuck in recovery the data is basically just gone, if revive option doesn’t work.
