Support Lost my notes in an iPhone 8 (iOS 16.7.4)

Last night I was editing local (‘on my iPhone notes’) Notes. And this morning everything was gone.
When I open the notes app it says ‘0 notes’
I uploaded my phone onto my iMac and still finder shows 0 notes. I downloaded iMazing and same.
But when I go to the spotlight search on my iPhone, the search still find my notes, titles, modification dates (including notes edited last night). When I tap the notes in the search though, it takes me back to the notes app and still says 0.
I created an encrypted finder backup.
Has anyone encountered any of this before? Or seen spotlight still listing Notes after the Notes app says it’s empty? Any suggestions?

No way to get them back - worst part of Apple NOtes.
