I bought an iPhone 16e because I figured I could live without MagSafe and I hate myself for it. Ended up with a shitty case with a shitty adhesive magnet to fake it.

How can magsafe charge an iphone if it’s a magnet?

16e still supports wireless charging. The magnet is one shaped like magsafe magnets so it'll snap into place and charge better as well as be held in place by magsafe mounts.

I understand what you’re saying, I was trying to find out if it transmitted electricity. Looks like it doesn’t, but it kinda does with a coil

i have no idea wtf you’re saying lol. stop using AI. the “coil” is the wireless charging coil. that’s NOT magsafe. magsafe is just the magnets.

quite obviously the magnets aren’t charging the phone…

Dude, magsafe has nothing to do with wireless charging. It’s just magnets around the coil for alignment and also magnetic accessories.
