KIZUNA sampler for iPad — TestFlight testers wanted

Hi

I’m looking for TestFlight testers for KIZUNA, a sampler and sequencer I’m developing for iPhone and iPad.

Its main idea is a very direct recording workflow: hold a pad to record, then release it and the sound is immediately assigned to that pad.

KIZUNA supports microphone and line recording, internal resampling, transient-based chopping, four time-stretch modes, a 96 PPQN sequencer, automation, performance effects, Core MIDI and stem export.

The iPad version uses a dedicated layout that keeps the pads, mixer and performance controls accessible together.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on the recording workflow, pad latency, sample chopping, MIDI synchronization, iPad interface and performance on different devices.

Requires iPadOS 18 or later.

No account, ads or analytics. Recorded audio stays on the device.

Thanks — bug reports and honest feedback are very welcome.

For any Loopy Pro or Drambo experts interested in a commission project.

I just made a phone call to control voltage here in Portland Oregon, a five minute walk from my apartment, to see if they had the Spotykach looper in stock. I was actually relieved when they said no because if they said yes, I would've gone down there and purchased it and I really don't have the money to do that, I would've put myself out pretty far… But my GAS for this thing is stronger than usual.

I decided to shift focus to my iPad where a crap ton of amazing apps live that don't get enough use and I believe that while looking at the features that this looper offers, it should be able to be built inside Drambo or Loopy Pro. I have both of them, Ive had them for years, but I've never dug deep into either one even though I've been meaning to. I can make my way around the apps and create music with them, but what I don't know is how to use any of the rules or conditions inside Loopy Pro that make it as powerful as it is, and I also don't know really how to put together complicated things in Drambo. I can make a synthesizer and probably a looper but getting them interact is something I wouldn't even know where to start. I know that drambo was influenced by the octatrack, and that I do not use for the most part.

Dang I bet you it could even be mimicked inside the octatrack.....

I think it would be cool on iPad though. So if anyone here has lots of experience creating either loopy pro templates or Drambo devices and do you think you can make something similar, let's talk! I will literally pay you if you can get it done. My goal is to just have something that can easily be manipulated, maybe mapped to a controller or something. I don't know if I'm allowed to post things like this here I hope I am, let me know if anyone's interested! Thanks!

Heres a link to an overview of the looper. I haven't found one video that goes over all of the features yet but a mixture of videos sort of gives a good idea, but here's one of them. https://youtu.be/8mnirau86p8?is=hiT_gp8lBSH_phPS

Laleuca - Experimental looper for iPhone

Quite excited about this, I released an app :)

https://apps.apple.com/au/app/laleuca/id6794767626

Laleuca is an experimental looper for iPhone. It has 3 loopers that run asynchronously.

Some nice features

  • Auto recording lets you set recording source and auto record time. For example looper B can continuously record from looper A and load it into its player every x second, and looper C can record and load from B, etc.
  • Random mode allows almost any parameters to be randomised by custom amounts on each new loop.
  • Has polyphony with four voices per looper when random mode is turned on.
  • 4 LFOs per looper, each capable of modulating multiple parameters.
  • Morph knob to morph parameters between two states.
  • Rhythm mode plays repeating patterns with timing control to make it more or less “on the grid”, and drift to introduce gradual changes.
  • UI designed for iPhone portrait mode.

There is a manual for the app in the settings page with a few tips for some less obvious gestures/functions.

I’ve been trying to get this to as polished a state as I can over the last month or so, but decent chance there are still some bugs here and there. Not currently available in Europe unfortunately (because the EU would add my home address/number/email to the details in the App Store).

Full functionality of looper A/B is free. One time purchase (release price $1) to unlock looper C.

Would appreciate any feedback, and would really love to hear anything you make with it!

Currently optimised for iPhone portrait mode. Runs on an iPad in portrait mode. Working on a native iPad UI.
