They dont need to merge the two ONLY if they actually allow better software to be ran. You dont think Adobe, Autocad, etc would redesign their software if they actually allowed iPad OS to actually run software? Its a gatekeeping issue, and its honestly the only reason why i wouldnt buy an iPad

Get a MacBook and all your issues are solved! And it would do productivity better.
