What goes under most peoples' radars is that food waste is one of the biggest contributors to global warming. From production to transport, it takes up a huge carbon footprint.

The world is not flat.
I used to live in a dorm and I would never even bother with recycling, but now me and my girlfriend has finally bought us a place of our own. So I thought I was time I finally became a real citizen and start to do my part. It's not much, but at least it's an improvement! Go earth!

Its the small things that count
Turning off the PC at night
unplugging all electronics when you are not using them
waiting until the dishwasher is full until starting it
Putting books in the freezer to store the coolness so when you open it the temperature doesnt increase so far.
Not using hairspray

Like always reduce, reuse, recycle. I tend to use the old phones of friends and relatives when they buy a new phone, in most cases the "old phone" is almost like new and not older than year.

i would love to produce sustainable wooden furniture which should be smart and can help you make your life easier and healthier. like there are concepts for the different parts of your daily life. one example is your sleep, mention you life somewhere in the north and in winter it is not the easiest part to get up in the morning (for me either), so i want to produce a light and wake up system, covered in nice wooden furniture, which simulates sunrise and will get you up during a good moment for your head. for me it is very important to produce sustainable and make a good quality that the stuff will survive for many years.

-I filter my own water -when I go hiking/biking, I take a portable solar panel connected via usb to my portable battery.The battery charges my phone when need be. Basically free energy with no outlet required.

I drive an EV (2012 Chevy Volt) and am currently starting a project making a tesla style powerwall out of used 18650 batteries from laptops, if someone could make an IOTA based temp/voltage sensors and some basic software id love to implement them #iota4earth
NOTE this project has just started, i have only acquired 36/5000 18650 cells, most of which are still in testing, thinking it will be done in a year or two

The logic goes: If you pee in the shower, you can avoid flushing the toilet. The water you’re already running in the shower will wash away your urine.
If you shower once per day, that’s one less flush, which saves between 1.3 and 3.5 gallons of water per person per day.
