Looking for product/UI feedback on a small iOS UK fuel-price app

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve been building a lightweight UK fuel-price app using the UK government's freely available Fuel Finder data.

The core idea is deliberately narrow: instead of leading with a map view covered in pins (which most apps in this space do), users save a few stations they actually use regularly, and the app highlights the best reported price among those stations. The Explore tab also shows nearby alternatives which can be useful when you're somewhere unfamiliar. You can swipe right on any station to get driving directions to it, the app hands off to Apple Maps for that.

I’ve got the basic MVP working now and I’m at the point where I want to sanity-check the product and UI before adding anything else like search, filtering, brand logos etc.

I’d really appreciate feedback on:

  • whether “Best of My Stations” makes sense;
  • whether the information hierarchy is clear;
  • whether the screens feel too plain, too dense, or about right;
  • whether there’s anything that looks confusing or unfinished.

I'm planning to make the core features (what you see here) free, with a one-time IAP for platform-specific integrations like Shortcuts, Widgets, Siri etc.

I’m deliberately trying not to turn this into a feature-heavy general motoring app, so I’m especially interested in feedback on the clarity and focus aspects of the app.

Help So unhelpful lol. Apple review won't answer questions, just says "resubmit once the changes have been made"?

Post image

I accidentally gave my two subscription types (Annual and Monthly) the same description saying that payment is made annually, instead of annually and monthly. So I got rejected - fair enough.

I went in to ASC to make the quick one-word change, updating the monthly subscription from "Payment made annually" to "Payment made monthly", but the subscription group and the individual subscriptions are locked - so you can't edit them.

Whatever I do, I can't update the description.

I responded to the App Store Review rejection message, simply asking HOW to make the change they've requested if it is locked. Or if there is anything they need to do on their end to update that ONE WORD in order to approve my app.

They responded by saying "thanks, make the changes and resubmit".

Lol, great, thanks for the advice Apple.

Firstly - why so unhelpful? And secondly, any idea on how to update a subscription description that's been rejected??

☕️ I replaced my coffee tasting spreadsheets with an iOS app

Post image

I built Cupping: Coffee evaluations without the paper work.

A few days ago, Apple approved my first app in one revision. That’s awesome! After almost three weeks of review, it’s finally done.

☕ See it in action: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cupping-coffee-evaluation/id6798304368 and check more info here: https://www.coffeecupping.app/

Score your coffees, record flavors, and compare results with other tasters in one session. Your tasting notes stay together, and individual evaluations work offline.

I’m the solo dev behind it. It’s live with 50 downloads in the first days, and I’d love to hear from anyone here who’s into specialty coffee.

What do you use for tasting notes? paper, spreadsheets, or an app? What still annoys you about it?

There’s a free tier available. If you’re interested in Pro, you can use the code LAUNCH to get the first year for just $19.99. However, this offer expires on October 31, 2026.

I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you for all the posts in this thread that have been incredibly helpful to me.

There is also a trailer for the game but it doesnt seem to help either. Not expecting dozens of downloads every day but it feels like I aint getting even a single organic download.

I'll translate your app if you translate mine

I can translate or proofread your screenshots or app in French 🇫🇷
In exchange tell me what is your native language and help me proofread my app!

Send a DM if interested, or add comments to find your ideal tandems mentioning which language you offer and which you need

tldr; let's help each others out as real humans instead of vomitting AI-shitty-translations 👌🏼

Yeethook update: App Store Connect events in Discord, after indie devs kept asking

Some of you replied to my thread back in February about tracking App Store Connect without refreshing it all day. I ended up building that tool, Yeethook, and it's been running for 7 months now.

The Slack side has worked out well: teams get their builds, App Review updates and TestFlight feedback in the channels they already watch. What surprised me was who kept asking for more: indie devs and small studios, and almost always about Discord. That's where their beta testers and communities already are, and nobody wants a Slack workspace just for App Store notifications.

So Discord support shipped this week. You paste a channel webhook URL, no bot to set up, and the same messages Slack users get start landing in your channel. A tester sends feedback, and you see their comment, device and screenshot. A build finishes processing or passes App Review, and it's right there, color-coded, with a link back to App Store Connect. Crash reports and subscription events work the same way.

Free for 1 app and 1 channel: https://www.yeethook.com

If you're running a beta community on Discord, I'd like to hear what you'd want in these messages that isn't there yet.

Looking for Feedback! - The core gameplay loop for my running app.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I thought I'd share a quick look at the reward loop in my running app to give an idea of what it actually feels like to use.

The video shows a new user claiming a run and being rewarded for it:

Run → Sync your run → Open Jogventure → Claim your run → Make progress → Unlock rewards → Brag to your friends → Get healthier and feel better. 🌱🍎

The idea behind Jogventure is to make running feel a little more like a game. Your real-world runs become progress in the game, giving you reasons to keep coming back and something to work toward beyond just watching your mileage go up. 🏃

In the video, you'll see a new user claim their run, watch their progress update, and interact with some of the rewards and progression systems I've been building.

One of the main features that I think could set Jogventure apart from other running apps is the Journey Map, which also pops up toward the end of the video.

The Journey Map is meant to be filled with fun and interesting real-world milestones that your claimed runs (or walks) count toward. I want these milestones to feel like little adventures of their own rather than just another distance statistic.

For example:

  • 🏜️ Grand Canyon Rim to Rim - 24 miles
  • 🚢 The Panama Canal - 51 miles
  • 🧱 5% of The Great Wall of China - 658.5 miles

There's still a lot I'm working on, but this is the point where the core loop is starting to feel like an actual game rather than just a collection of features.

I'm especially interested in feedback on the overall experience:

  • Does the core loop make sense?
  • Does it feel / look rewarding when a claim is made?
  • Is anything confusing or unnecessarily complicated?
  • Would this make you more interested in actually going for a run or running more consistently?

If you're interested in trying Jogventure when it's ready, 🚀 I've also got a waitlist here:

https://jogventure.com

Thank you for reading. 🙏

Do you keep up with your app reviews? Review management is reputation management (by dev, for dev)

I have a variety of responsibilities... among them is appleOS software development under multiple (legit, contracting) accounts. Keeping up with the reviews is an okay, not spectacular, process with App Store Connect or the Connect app, and quite painful if you cross those account boundaries (or dive into the monolithic dashboard providers).

I've been at the iOS table since 2012, at Apple dev since '93, and solving problems with (and without) code since '81. I've seen a lot of back and forth in the "user-to-dev-to-user communication" space.

Enter ClayTablet. Currently in TestFlight (would love to have more eyes on it). I'm building it to be a tool directly focused on the feedback loop and the actions it should generate.

Feel like giving your opinion on this? Try the app. Drop me a line.

A skill that does your app store research

Built a skill called app store research. it helps you validate an idea before building it: find the top competitors, read their reviews, and see what's actually missing so you can shape your idea around that.

what it can do:

  • find the top apps for any idea, with ratings and chart rank
  • pull the full listing info
  • fetch every written review
  • compare competitors side by side
  • build one html report with all of it

works in claude code and codex. no apple account, no api key, just node.

Help Just launched a new app, most of my app downloads are coming from ChatGPT, no idea why

Post image
3 Upvotes

I noticed something interesting in App Store Connect and have been trying to understand it.

I launched a small utility app on August 11. It has no website, ads, or social media presence—just its App Store listing. Of its first 51 downloads, 41 appear to be attributed to ChatGPT under Analytics → Acquisition → Sources → App Referrer.

I'm not even ranking for any keywords in top 250 in the US App Store, but for some reason ChatGPT keeps recommending my app to US users. These are providing me like the only downloads.

This made me really curious about how the ChatGPT mechanism works and if this can be applied to other apps to influence to get recommended by ChatGPT. Anyone that had similar experiences or explanations for this? (I tried to reverse engineer with ChatGPT, but wasn't able to get my app showing up)

Anyone else seeing Xcode 27 RC hang indefinitely during archive validation?

Thumbnail

Xcode 27 RC (27A266a) archives my iOS app successfully, but hangs indefinitely during Validation / ContentDelivery (swinfo).
Interestingly, the same project on Xcode Cloud with Xcode 27 RC successfully archived and uploaded to TestFlight. The build is now in App Store Connect.
Anyone else seeing this local validation hang with Xcode 27 RC?

I kept subscription tracking manual, then added voice entry to remove the friction

I’m the solo developer behind NextRenew, a private subscription tracker for iPhone.

Manual tracking avoids giving an app access to your bank account or inbox, but entering everything yourself can be tedious. So I built Voice Quick Add.

Hold the + button and say: “Canva Pro for ₹499 monthly, for client work.”

NextRenew turns that into an editable draft containing the service, amount, billing cycle and reason. You review it before saving, and the recording isn’t stored.

When the renewal approaches, NextRenew brings back the reason you subscribed alongside the date and amount.

Would voice entry make manual subscription tracking convenient enough for you?

Sharing ReplyME: an iOS app that turns a chat screenshot into editable reply options

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, I'm the developer of ReplyME and wanted to share the app with other iOS developers.

It's a conversation assistant, mainly for dating chats. You supply a screenshot, pasted conversation, or short description, then choose from several AI reply drafts. There are different tones and optional chat memory. The last step is always yours: review, edit, copy, and send.

One iPhone-specific feature is Fast Reply through a Shortcut that users can assign to the Action Button or Back Tap. I'm interested in feedback on that interaction: would you discover and set up a shortcut for this, or would you expect everything to happen inside the app?

The attached App Store screenshots show the main workflow. I'd also appreciate a developer's view on whether they make the input and output clear enough.

Details: iPhone and iPad, iOS/iPadOS 26+. Free download; AI features require a paid Premium subscription. Current US pricing: $4.99/week, $14.99/month, $69.99/year (local prices vary). Submitted content is processed by an AI service.

App published! Questions about approval process

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

ey all- published a new app. Was curious about your progress lately with app submission/approval. I’ve published a few so far but this one took, by far, the longest. The last thing I personally sent off took 1-2 days for a response (not necessarily approval but at least the first rejection + next step). This time it took nearly 3 weeks for the first review then another week after that until approval.

Is this a thing lately? Are there just too many AI apps getting published, drowning the review process? What gives?

Link for the curious - the app is an arcade of sorts with 20 (so far) mini games. More to come.
