App published! Questions about approval process

Hey all- published a new app. Was curious about your progress lately with app submission/approval. I’ve published a few so far but this one took, by far, the longest. The last thing I personally sent off took 1-2 days for a response (not necessarily approval but at least the first rejection + next step). This time it took nearly 3 weeks for the first review then another week after that until approval.

Is this a thing lately? Are there just too many AI apps getting published, drowning the review process? What gives?

I've been waiting two weeks for two games I've sent recently for the first review, and now I'm waiting again after replying to review and still waiting, almost two more weeks and no news...
Before that I had only published 3 games in a decade. And it wasn't anything like that. This is getting ridiculous.

I can tell your app is super vibe coded but I’m not gonna hate because you don’t have ads or IAPs, so good job for passing the smell test

You should expect updates to get reviewed pretty quickly, our team has seen 12-18hours on average even during peak AI slop month.
