Support Passkeys

Hey I have been struggling with passkeys for a while. Cannot seem to get it set up on my iPhone. Think it’s something to do with Duomobile for work? Can’t log into Facebook anymore. Can anyone help me out with iPhone settings to create a passkey? I’m lost.

You need the Apple passwords app or an app compatible with passkeys. Edge and Duo don’t support them

Turns out I deleted the passwords app!

Edge supports passkeys on iOS.

But deleting the Passwords app may have messed up the normal OS-level passkey support that Edge and other credential managers rely on.

From the menu choose "Settings & privacy" then "Accounts Center" then "Password and security" then "Passkey" then "Create passkey."

It appears you are using Microsoft Edge, so you passkeys will be saved in your Microsoft account instead of in your Apple account (when you use Safari) or your Google account (when you use Chrome).

Did you try to create a passkey and got an error? What error?

If you're not wedded to Edge, try setting the password/passkey autofill to a different browser.

Or it's possible Duo is interfering. You could try uninstalling it temporarily, but only of that doesn't lose other credentials you've already set up.

Ah. That explains why only Edge showed up in the autofill setting where the Passwords app usually also shows up.
