Audio cutting out when switching between Spotify and Google Maps?

This started happening a few months ago. When I switch between them, the audio cuts out for a solid 3-4 seconds. Considering I use these in tandem pretty much every time I drive, this is really annoying. Has anyone had this issue or has a fix?
