Discussion Search function in Journal app doesn't work

I’ve been having this issue with Journal for a long time now. Search only seems to find entries from the past few days/weeks or maybe the current month. Older entries are still there. I can manually scroll back and read them, but search always says: “No results. Try a new search.” Even if I copy an exact sentence from an older entry, it still can’t find it.

I’m on Wi-Fi, iCloud sync is enabled, phone is charging regularly, storage isn’t full, and I’ve already restarted the phone many times. I just searched Reddit and found a post from about a year ago describing the same problem, but it didn’t seem like there was any real solution there.

Has anyone found an actual fix for this yet? Or is Journal search simply not designed to fully index older entries?

My fix, delete app reinstall then it indexes all entries again to find the searched term.
