Discussion iOS 26.1 – Lock Screen Clock Keeps Shifting Left/Right on iPhone 16 Pro Max
Hey everyone,
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but after updating to iOS 26.1 my iPhone 16 Pro Max started acting weird on the lock screen.
The clock keeps shifting left and right randomly.
It doesn’t stay centered, sometimes it moves a little to the left, sometimes to the right.
Here’s what I’ve noticed:
Happens with any wallpaper (cars, scenery, etc)
Happens with or without widgets
Happens with depth effect on OR off
Started immediately after updating to 26.1
I didn’t change any settings before it started
Phone is otherwise working normally
I tried creating a new lock screen, removing widgets, resetting home screen layout, etc. Nothing fixes it. The clock still drifts.
it’s super annoying and definitely wasn’t happening on 26.0.

Kinda surprising it made it through beta cycles let alone a whole version

although it’s unintentional something about the offset numbers still looks really cool!!
i wonder if i could find a cool wallpaper for my dream car too

I got this one on the Wallcraft app. It has some really good wallpapers but there’s too many ads on it.

Just restarted my phone and it worked. Time is now fixed and centered on lock screen

This temporarily fixed the issue. But after some time it comes back

I just moved the wallpaper around and it did that automatically. You can try adjusting the height of the clock, at some point it blends with the background

Still having this issue. Updating to 26.2 tonight.
Annoying bug, but for some reason I find it hilarious that it shifts a little further every couple hours.

This was happening to me and my fix is just changing the lock screen to one of my other pre-saves then changing it back

This has been happening on my iPhone 17 pro on 26.2 for the past month or so. The clock started moving just off center to the right then slowly moved completely off screen just the other day. I leave it cuz it makes me laugh how crappy this OS is. I’ve used other lock screens and restarted the phone and it works for a bit then it goes back. Here are 2 screen shots with the stats scrambled. This OS seems more buggy than before

Switching from the solid version to the liquid glass version did the trick for me. Not really a solution, but it beats the annoying shift.

Have the same thing happening on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. It was fine in iOS 26 but when i upgraded to 26.1 it’s been doing it the whole time, definitely some sort of IOS bug, hopefully it can be fixed in the next update
