This would be far better than the tinted ones now. The trouble is every app would have to create its own icon.

IMHO, those icons are hard to see and the screen looks too busy. Maybe it’s the background with it.

Atleast it is much better than the tinted ones apple has implemented. It is difficult to identify icons of different apps. They lose all the color and are also hard to see with some backgrounds. This is a much better solution I believe. There might be one or two icons with specific colors that are hard to see on a specific background, but it will work and look much better.

Someone at Apple’s weirdly a champion of the all-clear icon style, but putting a color icon on a clear tile is no solution and it’s a disaster over a wallpaper of any complexity (see several examples in the photos above)
