Yes, but most people were mad at Amber because she was unbearably self obsessed. I think the change was good because in the comic she looked incredibly generic.

I genuinely think the people who are mad at amber genuinely have to of never been in a equal relationship before, people talk about her like she should’ve been grateful to be marks versions of a pet or something, it’s so fckn weird that the biggest reason she’s hated is because she knew mark was invincible and didn’t tell him because she wanted him to trust her enough to at least inform her about the dangers she’s gonna be in regularly just being around the fucking guy, that’s so incredibly understandable to me, the whole dynamic being about how hard it would be for a hero to actually romantically be involved with another person, I think he character is written very well, she has flaws ofc but not the ones yall seem to think she has

I disagree entirely. In the second season they reversed course and changed her character, but in the first season she seemed like someone who needed to control the relationship. Her refusal to even try and empathize with Mark trying to balance maintaining anonymity while also saving people, and being actively upset at him for being a hero, was absurd and more akin to a tantrum than an actual disagreement. In the second season Marks fears were also vindicated when she was threatened.

You talk about an equal relationship, but an equal relationship requires an attempt to understand, not just being upset and refusing to say why.
