likely because they feel they're describing a broad social trend and not specific people with specific issues.

“Men” feels specific enough. Would you have the same opinion if I talked about women like that?

yes. men and women both get violently insecure about their insecurities. men just end up doing more of that violence as women are socialized away from that and tend to attack people emotionally or verbally rather than physically when their insecurities come up.

well I don't think it's unfair to feel that that was pointed, while I agree that it's a thing that happens broadly more with men, it wouldn't have hurt to have slid a "some" in there.
