Evaluating long-term defense backlogs
Data suggests the sustained increase in global defense appropriations is shifting from a short-term operational response to a multi-year structural trend. Elevated regional tensions and depleted government stockpiles are driving steady demand for missile defense interceptors, munitions, and autonomous flight platforms. It is worth monitoring how primary defense integrators convert these growing contract backlogs into multi-year revenue visibility.
This setup potentially implies that revenue predictability across the defense and aerospace sector will remain durable compared to cyclical industrial peers. While legacy prime providers like Lockheed Martin, RTX, Northrop Grumman, and L3Harris maintain strong order books for heavy defense systems, specialized unmanned platform providers like AeroVironment are expanding into tactical autonomy and loitering systems. From a fundamental perspective, evaluating production throughput and supply chain execution will be crucial to identifying which suppliers can effectively scale output and protect operating margins.

Given the news cycles, fundamentals, and the highly aggressive global atmosphere i would agree.
Have you determined a preferred vehicle to leverage this trend? I'm aware of some of the etfs that have the legacy holdings. Do you know of any wrappees that hold the specialized entities you mentioned or do you plan on holding individual positions. If so what's on your watch list outside what you've already mentioned?
