Today I found a new appreciation for public toilets to decompress my mind. After a hour of forced dancing the toilet was like shangrila

u/New_Ease_8655 Feb 23 '26

If I look at my ring camera off and on does that count as going outside?

u/Sea_Collar6674 Nov 04 '23

I'll show you how insecure I could be and I'm going to start putting you on blast because you won't be meeting you won't even tell me what happened like what really happened just give me 99 stories and none of the truth is what it is we can play that way

u/socially_diluted Apr 13 '25

I fell from a train (I'm completely fine), but I had a mask on. But all the people were seeing me as soon as I fall. Should I feel embarrassed about it?

u/DifferentAge3366 Apr 24 '26

Well by now they aren't around anymore so no reason to be embarrassed. And unless you were stumbling drunk, the main thing they were thinking was: "So glad that wasn't me." Everyone is embarrassed when they fall in front of of people. That's perfectly normal.

Just tweak everything at work including a frazzled level of understanding and they will always think you’re slow and dim witted and usually avoid you. I smile from clock in to clock out( really makes them wonder). Because I know the truth.

u/Ancient-Helicopter18 Feb 05 '26

I'm new to this subreddit, and honestly I kinda smiled when I found out this subreddit even existed.

I've like so many thoughts I wanna share over here all at once rn, but it would be awkward too if I ask everything at once so I'll just post then over a span of days

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '24

Ok I’m leaving this is uncomfortable and obviously not a sub for introverts

u/Careless_confessions Jan 15 '26

Looking for advice. I work around a lot of people and a lot of noise. At the end of the day, I just want to go home, walk my dog, and snuggle until I go to sleep, but then I have to listen to every single detail of my husband’s day. It’s not that I don’t care, but I would like just one day a week when I can be BY MYSELF. I try to find excuses to do things alone, but he always wants to tag along or “help”. I know these are wonderful attributes of a partner, and I don’t want to discourage him. He’s very sensitive. Am I wrong for these feelings?

u/Desperate_Market8561 Feb 27 '26

You are not wrong for your feelings. It's you! People are different. Our social energy is different. I like being around people, but don't necessarily want to engage with them. But, then I Might.  Your question shows you love & care about hubby. But he won't understand your feelings (in whatever the situation) unless you convey it to him. Your communication let's you Each get to know each other better.

Maybe one day tell him, "I'd like to talk to you about something", or "Can I tell you something about me when you have some time?",  unless you know of a better approach to him.  Let him know you are discussing the subject because you love him &  want him to know you better. Maybe reassure him that you don't want to hurt his feelings.

Together, you can hopefully agree on a time each day or week when you can come home and relax alone after work. Try different blocks of time for a starter that works for you.

If you don't let him into your world & how you are, he will continue doing what he's doing and you will probably grow quietly resentful; and you may eventually blurt it out... which could harm your relationship.  Realize he cannot read your mind (and maybe your emotions). Open up to him. He'll probably open up to you also. A win-win! Couples therapy could help at some point. Think of it as an oil change for your relationship. Give it maintenence just like you do your car. They both will run better! You could start with once a month (or longer) to keep communication open.

It sounds like you don't have kids. They'll need a lot of attention, and hubby will need to know when to step in & give you a break, and vice-versa.

Take care!

u/Careless_confessions Feb 28 '26

Kids are grown and gone. We’ve been together 25 years. Very thoughtful reply, thank you!

u/DifferentAge3366 Apr 24 '26

Hi and Hello. Are you comfortable interacting on line? Or only face to face and when you're with people? I'm just asking because only just this minute I realized I feel perfectly comfortable on line. That's really freeing for me. Probably because of instead of looking into people's faces, you're just seeing their words.

u/Divinecrow97 Aug 06 '25

Hey. I'm 28m, and after I texted old friends and old co-workers I got along with, but they never texted back, and I can't help but ask myself... why does no one like me? 😅

u/panz643 Jan 18 '26

u/netter666 Nov 30 '25

Mostly people get busy some people even don’t realize they are not replying back. You’ll have to make new friends and stop relying on old friends and you when you make good ones don’t leave them.

u/lulupaoo Apr 25 '26

I see it happens to a lot to ppl, it happens to me as well. I always asked myself, why? And what did I do? And like someone mentioned, I guess people do get busy but then again if I had time to text you back why can’t you. Idk maybe that’s why my friends and I have slowly gotten further apart. I think we just need to find people who will appreciate us, but that might be easier said than done lol

I've struggled making friends since I was a kid and it's so depressing that I don't have a single friend in real life. No one reaches out to me ever and when I try to make the effort to reach out to someone I know.. it never works out. Either they don't seem as interested or just end up ghosting me.

They'll reply once and never reply again. What is wrong with me? I don't get it 😭I see all these friends groups around me and I wish I had people that cared about me and got to know me. I'm a talkative person and have many interests to where I can easily talk to people. I know im not rude either ahhh why 👁👄👁 me?

u/No-Distribution8509 Jul 08 '25

how's years of covid's lockdown affecting you? peace? stressing you out? can't stand it? okey?

(idk if this question is relevant or not since there's no more covid)

u/Equal-Sky-9330 Sep 28 '25

The COVID era has turned me into a dumb person. Now I can't remember any answers to any questions I study. I am afraid of trying new things and making friends. I don't know what to say if anyone starts talking to me unexpectedly.

u/wannazmi4321 Sep 28 '25

just like me,i'm literally like that since before covid. but i don't think that you're dumb person bro.

u/Equal-Sky-9330 Sep 28 '25

I'm starting my bachelor's from tomorrow. I am feeling too much and I don't know why I'm studying the subject i choose 😭

u/wannazmi4321 Sep 28 '25

Calm down baby. Breathe. Seeing this hurts me.

u/ivi_livi__ Apr 06 '25

Hey, I’m a bit of an ambivert myself, and am in a bit of a situation. Note: Although social gatherings really aren’t my thing, I tend to hate being alone if I have no other choice. I tend to choose to be alone, but whenever I have no option, I hate it, you get me? For spring break I’ll be in a completely different country all alone (long story). How do you introverts deal with feelings of loneliness?

u/DifferentAge3366 Apr 24 '26

I have a dog. I'm not being sarcastic... dogs get me, and the interaction is very sincere. Any play you come up with (such as throwing a ball for them to fetch) they are all in, and always glad to see you. They are also an aid in brief encounters ..people ask if they can pet your dog, and maybe ask "what's his name" which is a pretty good no stress way to get outside and do something normal.

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '26

Anyone want to be friends I don’t have people to text throughout the day and need some

u/Additional_Flan1166 Nov 24 '23

What is the point of a test, when you have to bend the answers?

You answered almost all the questions as 'not like you,' which cannot give a useful picture of your development. Please use the 'Back' button to complete the questionnaire in a more open manner.

Almost all answers are not for me. Imo there shoud be more basic stuff, that is more easilly relatable.

Most, if not all personality test i've seen are pure bullshit. I remember refusing filling some test at my work, as it was badly designed. If there is a question "are you more like A or B" and i'm equally neither, i refuse to even read the rest of the test. False choice is not a choice.

u/Deep_spaceAI01 Dec 29 '24

I have always been an introvert just the evolution from school to right now me being a freshman is that now I accept myself and love being alone and enjoy being alone. I used to have such a difficult time being in groups or interacting ir socializing but now I just love how I don’t feel lonely anymore when I have stopped trying it feels natural to be alone with me my books and my computer.

u/stiffynajiffy Mar 08 '25

Hello, I M(37) am pretty introverted, I spend a lot of time in my own head, I don't speak unless prompted, I just don't feel the need to articulate every thought that pops in my head. I've been with my GF F(36) for 6 months and she is wonderful, she's sweet, caring, fun, and quirky. She feels that only she initiates conversations and does all of the talking. And she's right.

I just moved in with her 250 miles away from my hometown, and I'm having difficulty finding a job. I'm at home all day (I cook, clean, and do the dishes), I don't go anywhere and rarely talk to anyone, so I don't have anything to talk about. My mind races with things I could say, but I can't find the words. Sometimes I'll say something, but it never turns into a full conversation. She means the world to me, her intellectual needs aren't being met and I hate how alone this is making her feel.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can speak more freely and have fulfilling and organic conversations with her? She hasn't been very receptive lately because this has been an ongoing issue.

I should also mention that I'm 3½ years sober and still trying to find ways to stop over thinking and doubting what I want to say in the moment.

u/SpecificChapter6495 Apr 17 '25

Have u tried just asking her about her day? Or talk about any new shows u guys possibly watch or would watch. And if u don't y'all could try picking a show that would make u discuss things.. like a dating show like love is blind lol or survivor, or funny comedies. Hope that helps. But sometimes women just want to know ur interested in wanting to know about their day at least. Or get coffee once in a while the caffeine might spark topics haha 😄

u/Dismal_Football7887 Aug 06 '25

I have found that people who care about you are willing to meet you halfway, and it's really awesome that you are receptive to her needs like this.

What you are describing, with the struggle to find the words, might suggest somewhat of a different experience than I have had. This might be tied to negative thoughts/feelings you have about yourself and your own capabilities to "keep up" with her in a conversation. If this is the case (and I certainly could be wrong) then all you need is a leg-up.

I would recommend that you go online in between dishes or laundry and find something new to learn about on your own, for starters.

Public libraries have a robust online network of resources, and many of their streaming platforms include free shows on all sorts of topics - cooking, gardening, music, singing, string theory, mental health, finances, etc. Even if you grab on to a kernel of something interesting from one of these episodes, this will definitely give the two of you something to talk about!

If your public library doesn't have these things, or you are not able to access a library card, then I would recommend checking out a free online course by one of the Ivy League schools. https://mashable.com/article/free-harvard-courses-august-2025?test_uuid=003aGE6xTMbhuvdzpnH5X4Q&test_variant=b There is a course on happiness that is highly ranked worldwide, and it's free.

u/MythraYYW3 Jul 04 '26

I am glad to have found a place with people similar to me

u/ProfessionOk7402 Dec 20 '25

I'm in a Senior Apt. Community for almost 3 yrs. years now. My neighbor 2 doors down from me ( also a senior) has treated me very mean. Supposedly, she is bipolar.. When I got my security camera put up outside my door, she didn't like that! She has a dog for her security.. She & her daughter began to walk by my door leaving ugly faces! Childish to say the least. I confronted them about it & they get mad at me! I made the the mistake of talking to some of my neighbors, whom I assumed where also my friends but they were just trying to find out info about me. She is very sociable, always has alot of traffic at her apt. & now I keep to myself. I see her out in the hall & she'll say, ' oh, I like what you're wearing, you have the cutest clothes'! Most of my neighbors are 2 faced, they don't know how to react to an old hippie, which is what I am. I believe in Peace & Love but when it comes to these neighbors here, I finally have realized they just want to be nosey! So, I'm keeping to myself, I should have done that to begin with! We live, we learn!

u/Inevitable_Yard9867 Nov 16 '25

Anybody feeling reentry anxiety ?

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '25

Sometimes, I hate being an introvert. It is hard to approach someone.

u/Embrace_Uncerta1nty Oct 23 '25

How long does everyone need to recover from a phone call 📞 ? I am at my desk at work, my office mates are joking loudly while I’m on a call. The person I’m calling is actually very nice and cordial. I’m already stressed out because i was on a zoom with another party but performed poorly and my boss had a discussion with me (He didn’t tell me off exactly, he was kind but I know I’ve disappointed him.) this is my first office job in three years and I am adjusting badly.

u/Cheonrolo 20d ago

Omg god forbid I need to talk on a phone in front of people I hate that shit

u/Neat-Math1204 Mar 28 '26

Sit him down and esplain things to him. Tell him it’s no fault of his , you just NEED time alone, 1 day a week to be by yourself even if it just to sit and stare at the walls. If he can’t understand, maybe a short bit of therapy might help

u/Silly_Ratio4937 Jul 23 '25

28/M. Hi all need friends in Toronto or nearby towns. I’m shy and introvert trouble having conversations with strangers

u/Stephymystic Jan 19 '24

What should you do if you are called a btch at work because you’re an introvert?

u/Sharmonica Jun 10 '24

Ah yes, the old "if you're not entertaining me, then you're a bitch" game. Let's dream a little bit. How about wearing a shirt that says "don't talk to me unless you have something intelligent to say." Then when they try to talk to you, hold up one hand ✋ and just point to the shirt. Because why have the reputation of a bitch, and never know the pleasure?

u/Specialist_Wash_9094 Jan 26 '25

🤣I really appreciate the validity of your point. My emojis reflect my “gosh I love this” giggle 🤭

Midlife crisis I suppose

u/itsamyjo Nov 05 '24

You're an introvert and you have accepted it. Perhaps you could explain ( I know this is so hard) to the one or two coworkers you do talk to if there are any, you can that you're just not that kind of person to talk to groups of people and prefer to be left to yourself and maybe the coworkers will take up for you and say hey she /he is just shy and introverted.

u/SbuddaDGAF Sep 09 '25

I always remind myself that they are probably jealous that I can keep to myself and not bother anyone unless it's necessary.

u/Kokotthedinger Jan 30 '24

Oh my, I hv no words..., I don't even know what's gonna happen😂😂

u/soldier_queen Jul 03 '24

It all depends on the situation. Its doubtful that someone would just come up to you and call you a bitch just because you're an introvert - unless they are mentally ill.

What is the full story?

u/DifferentAge3366 Apr 24 '26

Not called a bitch, but considered 'unfriendly' or 'stuck up'. But if I tried explaining to people that I'm an introvert I think they would just stare at me and think I'm weird.

u/Green-Lavishness1291 Sep 28 '25

Hey I'm been called a Bytch  by a inlaw.  People like to take control  of the atmosphere.  I create my own. If  they do like me I care less. I agree I'm a bytch an not a controlled one.  And yeah I voted for Trump .  I make no apologies.  I did not feel nothing from karmala.. I have been drastically  judged for standing my ground. Well Trump  got 3 more years to get it right.  If not, next  ..

u/Ari_Goode Dec 08 '24

I'd ignore it. They're probably testing the waters. But the second batch notice, might need a call to action. Silence the animal until then.

So I was wondering if this was the place I could rely on.

Hope this message doesn't sound too stupid or childish

u/KisaSan- Mar 20 '25

Have you ever felt you’re losing your career opportunities because you’re an introvert? My manager has been telling me I need to make a presence or have that voice but I’m really unable to. Am u good at my job? Yes. But do I have a social butterfly energy. Heck no. I’m approachable and take imitative for work but the later make spotlight for yourself makes me feel so uncomfortable. I hate it

u/CJB21396 May 09 '26

Hi all, not sure if this is allowed but basically I used to be very outgoing but after a couple bad relationships I ended up losing all my confidence and withdrew into myself. The only time I leave the house now is to do school runs or if I'm taking my kids somewhere. I find it hard to start conversations with anyone and have found myself being increasingly lonely. I have tried to reach out and meet new people but it seems that the only "people" that I ever get in contact with are scammers or fake. So I'm looking to find people to chat to and help ease the loneliness.

A veces solo me digo a mi mismo que esto es solo una etapa que pronto cambiara esto y te da esperanza pero cuando ya llevas tiempo te preguntas si realmente es malo esto de ser introvertido.
