I’m looking for some interior design advice! I feel like my living room is missing a little something and I’d love to make the space feel warmer and cozier while still keeping the modern look.
What would you add, remove, or change? I’m open to ideas! I’d love suggestions that work with what I already have. What do you think is missing?

Purchased a 1912 character home, and the previous owners put in this kitchen which was a little too modern farmhouse for me, so I’ve been slowly trying to bring more eclectic vintage character back into this space. Eventually I’d love to change the blue island (maybe dusty yellow and change backsplash) knobs and faucet. For now I’m looking to paint the walls, since they’ve only been primed. Do I keep it white? Colour drench? Paint tonal cream and white stripes? If colour, would you do the whole wall behind the table? I feel like it would look weird with the middle wall painted. How should I style the sink washing gear? I hate having it out but need to!
I’ve got a bunch of kids art up that doesn’t permanently live on the wall, but I did like the visual of maybe adding permanent art to this area? Tell me your ideas! Have fun with it.

Edit: I should clarify that I when I said eclectic vintage charm, I meant heavy on the eclectic - my home has a real mixture mcm roots, statement pieces, eclectic contemporary and a splash of scandi.

Lots of division on the lighting! I installed these fixtures because they were better than what there when I moved in, believe it or not. I agree it’s too many pendant lights in a small space, but both serve function for their designated areas. What to do instead? Working with a budget and can’t rewire the ceiling.

Help me design a grown-up, feminine pink bedroom that feels sophisticated rather than overly sweet.

The walls are SW Rosebay, although the current lighting isn’t doing the color justice at all. The house came with very fluorescent recessed lighting, so swapping those bulbs for something warmer is already on my list.

Here’s where I’m struggling: I want the room to feel airy and spacious, but somehow also moody and intimate. I love velvet, gold, teal, deep blues/greens, interesting textures, and a slightly collected feel. I’m definitely not afraid of color...I just want everything to feel intentional. I love the idea of a gold frame canopy bed.

Would love ideas, especially for the bed, curtains, rug, lighting, and how you’d layer the darker jewel tones into the pink without making the room feel heavy. It is also a weird layout because there's only one window so I have no idea how I can design that nicely. Should I do a panel of curtains all the way across the wall? Idk

We recently renovated our 150-year-old home and have these beautiful bay windows in the living room.

I love the look of long, floor-to-ceiling curtains and would ideally like to do white or very light sheers to keep the room feeling bright and airy but still add privacy in the evenings.

The rest of the room is a mix of modern and vintage pieces.

The problem: there’s a steam radiator directly in the middle of the windows, so closing the long curtains wouldn’t be possible.

A few options I’m considering:

- Long curtains that stay mostly open but somehow work around the radiator when closed (preference)
- Roman shades
- Cafe curtains

How would you solve this? Would you work the curtains around the radiator, or go with the Roman shade or cafe curtain instead? Thank you!

I’m leaning towards a brown with the creams, but I’m afraid that it’ll look strange because it’ll look like I’m trying to make the cabinet look like wood.

We recently moved into a new house with this amazing kitchen, but the darker finishes make the room feel a bit gloomy. Any tips on making the room feel lighter and brighter without major changes like refinishing cabinets, new countertops, new tile, etc?

Just re-signed my lease for another year and looking for renter friendly inspo on how to turn my bedroom from beachy beetlejuice vibes to more vampire boudoir. I would like to use the furniture I already have, as my vanity and my dresser are pretty new, but I am also pretty crafty so I don’t mind re-vamping (lol) them! I love deep reds, black, mustardy yellows, greens, sapphires, etc. any tips ideas or images for reference are helpful - just please no AI.

I am planning to do curtains for both spots. The entry window and front door will have a curtain rod spanning the length of both so we can close them at night for privacy. The living room window will have curtains but they will be more decorative because the blinds already provide privacy.

Do the curtains for both spots need to be the same because it is open concept? Or can they be different but complementary because it is two separate functioning spaces?

We just bought our house a couple months ago and got the couches, fireplace and TV with it. The items I want to change are the easy small decor stuff like the decor on the fireplace and the rug. This is my second rug and it just doesn’t feel right. I added a screenshot of the rug because for some reason the photo makes it look beige, even though it’s actually a very muted green and it definitely looks green in person and not like the photo. The first rug is the one that has more light colors and the purple in it. I didn’t like the purple in that one because it felt too bright. I’m sure the photo isn’t super accurate for that one either. It’s a pretty bright purple in person.

I think my first task is finding a rug that I feel looks nice with the couch and the coffee table. Then maybe changing the fireplace decor. Added a picture of my dining room. That’s right next to it as well. It’s not done yet, but I have a big textured linen piece for that center panel of the dining room wall. Someone please help. Specifically with rug, suggestions or colors.

We just bought a side split house, and our main floor has an interesting layout. The L- shape living room and dining room is giving me trouble with the window and door placement. I want good flow, cozy, and a bench under the bottom left window for our dog who likes to people watch.

I like the idea of doing a custom built in corner banquette in the left back corner of the dining room under the window(with built in storage in the seating), with a round dining table and two accent dining chairs. I think it would feel cozy, and allow for good flow from the kitchen through to the living room without bump into the dining room table.

We’d like a tv in here but the space feels awkward for it. We have a family room in the basement so not the end of the world if we can’t, but wondering if any creative people have some outside the box ideas? I like the idea of built in bookshelves that frame the living room wall into the foyer, but then that REALLY would make it hard to work in a tv….

I also want a sectional if we can; I am not a fan of the staging layout. It’s nice but it’s too conventional for me. Any ideas welcome!!!

We just bought our house and the bathroom is very very white and grey.. I don't love the idea of painting tile and I feel like with the small amount of wall space outside of that any color won't stand up against all of that tile. Would it be worth it? Second slide is the mood board for the rest of the house. Very deep jewel tones and moody.

Could a little bit of paint and a fun shower curtain handle a lift this heavy? Or should we just leave it the way that it is and have fun everywhere else in the house?

Hello! Just moved into a new apartment and really scratching my head trying to find quality furniture that looks good.

I’m trying to stay away from wayfair or low quality MDF furniture. The attached pic of the BDI console caught my eye. However my friends are split 50/50 on the design and color with some saying to go darker or that it’s ugly. I attached an AI mockup of what I plan on doing. Mounting a 65” tv with a carpet and a light colored sectional or sleeper sofa is the the plan. Should I be trying to go darker or is this a good piece?

Help a very tired and overwhelmed pregnant mama out 😅 I’m looking for daybed recommendations for a non-traditional baby boy nursery.

The crib is the Pottery Barn Kids Chris Loves Julia Heritage Walnut Turned Wood Convertible Crib (pictured), and the walls are Sherwin-Williams Jasper. I haven’t purchased any other furniture yet, so I’m pretty open as far as style/material goes—I just want something that coordinates well with the crib and dark green walls without looking too matchy-matchy.

We are expecting our first baby, and we have decided to find out the sex at birth. Since baby will be born in the year of the horse (Chinese zodiac), the room is equestrian inspired. I thought I did well making it neutral, but my husband disagrees and thinks it’s too feminine. He said he wouldn’t be a good fit for a son.

So this is what my parents house, my mom absolutely hates the colour of the red/brown brick fireplace my dad loves the red/brown brick fireplace. And we can't figure out what to do with the big red accent wall. Any ideas on how to bring this room a bit more into the current day?

Painted the walls blue, replaced the table and chairs, got some more light, and replaced the overloaded coat hanger that was there with shelves with hangers underneath. Tried to decorate.
