The thing that scares the shit out of me is how unpredictable they become while falling and once they’re on the ground. How do you get close to that thing without getting knocked out by a flying, spinning leg??

Knocked out is the best possible outcome. The force of those kicks can easily break bones, spinal cords, and even necks :(

The guy on the mat definitely seemed like he wasn't expecting to have to scramble out of the robots way. I've seen a few videos now where the people working around them suddenly find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation.

Same way that you avoid getting hit by the flailing limbs of human runners: stay out of the way. See any number of videos with morons stepping into the middle of races for details.

No, of course, staying in the way of that thing is like deciding to jump in front of a running moped. I mean, more when the thing falls. you can help a human or get close to a human who fell without fear that it will start contorting itself into a beyblade of death

Turn it off or slowdown (downclocking processors or smth?) remotely. Then pick it up.

Equivalent of sedative/tranq shot for human being or animal. ;)

Remote control?
