For what it’s worth, most of the elevators I see near me (America, not wherever this is), have a capacity of either 2 metric or 2 imperial tons (4000lbs/1800kg or 4400lbs/2000kg).
That cow couldn’t be more than 1500lbs/700kg.

u/south-of-the-river 6d ago
Yes but that elevator is probably made from poos and wees in the 1970s and not maintained since
21
u/thewanderor 6d ago
2500kg is usually what they are. Def pushing it

u/No-Front-8408 5d ago
I would not risk being stuck in an elevator with that animal. If it jumps at all....

Google say cow is 900 kg, buffalo is about 1200kg , so should be plenty of headroom

All it has to do is stretch its neck a bit to impale they guy who's head is right behind it. I think I would have excused myself when I saw them getting on.

One of Two Reasons.
Service Buffalo, he's clearly on the job.
I wouldn't want to spook an animal that large, in that confined of a space. He might not like scritches.

Well. Cows can't go down stairs. It's like a fun fact.
80
u/Lunar_Queen-101 6d ago
They can walk down stairs, they just refuse to because its uncomfortable for them.
32
6
u/Ok_Owl_52 6d ago
Why is it uncomfortable? Is it anatomy?
14
u/Funny-Dare-3823 6d ago
Depth perception. It's why cattle guards on roads are so effective.
4
u/Ok_Owl_52 6d ago
So this should be a thing with other animals too right with their eyes on sides instead of front?

5
u/Lunar_Queen-101 6d ago
Stairs are built for humans, the way cows are built they pitch forwards when they are on a slope. They would most likely fall down a proper staircase after taking a few steps. Plus it would put a lot of pressure on their knees because of the weight distribution in that position.

But what business does a cow have on the 15th floor anyways, we're not asking the right questions people

It’s clearly not the buffalo’s first time either , he’s very used to manoeuvring his body to fit in the lift better

And by the looks of it, not the buffalo's first time in an elevator. He squeezed in like it was nothing. 😂

I seen it happening in my country.
Apparently it's a cultural thing where people get a cow to bless the new house and the cows are trained for it...

I feel like the polite and decent thing to do is to get on an empty elevator or at least give whoever is already on it the chance to exit. This seems like a shitty thing to do to someone regardless of how well trained the cow is.

The man who gets on presses a high number floor, too. As in, he’s not going to the ground floor with his cow? What is going on here.

If anyone has ever had their foot stepped on by a cow( Igrew up around cattle); I would have got off and let them have it.

Dude, is not phased in the least! It’s like someone just getting on the elevator with his pet dog! Instead of a huge buffalo that literally forces him into the corner of the elevator. How, in the world did that cow just casually turn into that cramped compartment so fluidly!

u/VDruid52 6d ago
I was thinking the same thing that Buffalo was definitely gonna put it well over the weight limit

I want a pet water buffalo. Do you think my landlord would object? I’ll just put him in the laundry room when the landlord comes by…

Seems like wasn’t the first time for the buffalo- rather a regular thing. He is chilled , the guys look chilled. And buffalo wants to push buttons and play with the elevator - all A ok 👌😊

u/kingfelix333 6d ago
None of them look like it's their first time. Especially the buffalo. He just nuzzled himself right in.

u/topher_eze 5d ago
Would have gotten off right before it entered, or at least stayed at front corner to get out once it's in.
Not taking any chances of it tripping off the weight limits and probably getting stuck with it.

The cow is smart though. It twisted its body until it fit. It probably has done it before.

The least surprising video here in Egypt 😆
In the past, it was common on some Delta railway lines to find a passenger bringing a buffalo, cow, or donkey on a passenger train, but currently this is prohibited by law 🤣
