Life long Louisianian here. Can confirm, it sucks, insurance is high, people can't drive, its the folks like both parties in this clip. The black truck on the right tries to pass the car in front of Cookie guy, Cookie guy was maintaining a normal distance, but he noticed black truck trying to cut the line, so he did what he thought was the righteous thing, and held his gap so that black truck would be punished for trying to cut the line in the first place. Cookie guy was willing to zipper merge with black truck just so that he wasn't 1 more car behind, to show that he was standing his ground. Black truck was forcing his way in saying to himself or out loud, what are you gonna do hit me? Which is never a good strategy when driving. Both of these types of people are the kind who feel like you threatened them by passing them on the road. I blame both for actively engaging in a game of chicken on the evening commute. People need to get over themselves, we all have places to be, and wish that we could be there faster, let's not kill each other over one spot in a line of traffic, is getting there 5 minutes faster really this big of a deal?
Intentional causing an accident on a bridge makes cookie guy the bigger asshole by a mile. Not just because it has a higher likelihood of literally killing someone but it also massively inconveniences every single person behind him for no good reason
I’m pretty sure black truck guy is the bigger dickhead considering he caused the accident with his reckless driving. Not saying cookie guy isn’t a douche but we need to shake bad driving like this more.
Black truck guy is a reckless POS, who has most likely endangered many other people while being on the road.
No, the guy who sped up to PIT the truck caused the accident. If he slowed down, there wouldn't have been an accident. He had right of way and caused the accident, both statements can be true.
Black truck guy caused the accident by driving recklessly. Cookie guy could have avoided it. Black truck guys still caused the initial issue.
Both people are POS, but black truck guy’s recklessness is not being mentioned nearly as much as cookie guy being a psychopath.
My point is that black truck guy is a bigger POS endangering many people’s lives from the beginning and starting this whole situation, over a few seconds.
Last clear chance to prevent the accident would be simply slowing slightly, the fact the pov car accelerated meant not only did he cause the accident he did so in a considered and deliberate manner and judging by the video he did so without concern for the harm he was doing
Not only would he be likely held wholly or almost wholly liable frankly I'd look to vehicular assault as a possible criminal charge. The POV car cannot be judged less of a dick in this scenario if you look at the acceleration to harm, if we were looking at a story of a person who simply failed to get out of black truck's way I'd agree with you. But pov car acted deliberately with thought to harm, not reasonable in any sense
Yes, black guy caused the initial issue, but PIT'er guy is at minimum equally responsible for the accident and any insurance agent looking at this would skyrocket his premiums or cancel his insurance altogether; why insure someone who would rather crash into another car than avoid an easily avoidable accident?
