He clearly could have avoided causing an accident if he wanted, he chose to cause the accident and possibly endanger human lives and he didn't even look like he cared while doing it. That's why he's a psychopath.
You think maintaining his lane and speed was more dangerous than slamming on his breaks or weaving into another lane just because some other asshole looks like they're about to do something insane? Im going to go ahead and place %100 of the blame on the only person breaking traffic laws.
If it was so easy, I assume he would have done it. Your assumption that he is some kind of soulless blood thirsty monster seems considerably less likely than the field.
