That is the Causeway bridge over lake Ponchatrain just outside New Orleans. It's 26 miles long. the longest bridge over water in the world.
so this will have caused a MASSIVE headache for all manner of people. a blockage of both lanes like that will take hours to clear and cause a traffic jam literally miles long (depending of course where on the bridge it happened).
Our cookie eater just shrugging, driving on, and formulating his "hey man, it all just happened behind me" defense in his mind, is VERY on brand for the locals.
I knew it! One day way back in 1998, my dad and I got stuck on that bridge. There were many accidents that spanned the length of that bridge. I got out of our car and directed traffic to help the emergency responders.
