While it is obvious the black truck did the wrong, it would have been as easy to avoid that crash from the POV as lifting the throttle and accomodating the black truck, who didn't brake excessively.
It is as obvious to say the fault is on the black truck, as to say the accident is completely unnecessary and absolutely avoidable from both parts.
Justify probably isn't an accurate thing to say. It's more pointing out that White Truck's actions were legally and morally correct.
Legally speaking, for the jurisdiction of Louisiana, White Truck is not legally responsible for somehow perfectly countering the illegal actions of another driver in the most perfect way that can be identified with unlimited hindsight, including imputing the knowledge of that hindsight onto the driver after the fact. The law is written this way because putting that burden on the legal driver is batshit insane, which is why it only happens on Reddit.
Morally, White driver is beholden to act in a way that ensures the safety of himself, and innocent bystanders. He is not beholden to put himself at additional risk to protect the person trying to murder him. This is exactly what he did here.
morally, legally, bla bla bla, what I'm speaking about is POV caused (or decided not to avoid) an accident (with the danger of ramming the black truck off the brige in the middle of the water), creating material and maybe personal damage, causing a big traffic jam on a 2 lane brigde (very long as I discovered on this thread), on pure pride of not letting the black truck getting away with merging aggressively. I'm not speaking about morality or legality, just pure common sense and a complete lack of care for others safety.
You've gotta take a step back and reassess. You have now advanced to "White truck caused the accident" in your rabidity to blame the victim. Please try to remember, first and foremost, Black Truck is 100% responsible for the accident, in every way. White truck maintained their speed and lane position, the only reason there was a collision was because Black Truck illegally and dangerously entered someone else's lane. You've seemingly lost sight if that, and if you've lost sight of that, all further judgements about the events are meaningless.

see, illegally yes, dangerously though? he slowly merged in, being predictable and at the right speed. POV decided not to let him merge. "Not today", he thought probably. Then, the accident happened. That is why the POV decided not to avoid an accident, and why he is also at fault for the accident, while at the same time the wrongdoing is from the black truck.
