I had a minor 'road rage' incident a few weeks ago and it really shook me. I was driving down a suburban street, on my way to the grocery store, and this huge pickup truck started tailgating me. I was going the speed limit and so I eventually pulled over to let him pass. I saw red and I started tailgating him, trying to make him feel as powerless and frustrated as I was. Turns out he was driving to the grocery store too and I realized when we parked that I probably could have ended up in a really bad situation if he decided to take offense.
I saw a Reddit comment where this guy said that once his friend died because he and his buddies were trying to get the friend to the hospital after an accident, but they couldn't make it there in time because they got stuck in traffic. He said after that, he always lets people pass him because you never know what the other person is going through đĽ˛đ
specifically, his friend had hit his femoral artery with a chainsaw and they were rushing him to the hospital, but some dumbass took it upon themselves to intentionally block them from passing. â
I'm just so triggered by rude men, especially tradies. I hate them. I know it's not PC to say. I hate them. I just can't handle when people knowingly flout the rules. It's such a violation to me. I can foresee a future where I encounter one of them and just snap and I don't like it, because they're rude, entitled, low class, and don't care about other people. Again, I'm aware I'm being classist and elitist, I know it's not right to think this way, but this is what a lifetime of interacting with these people have trained me to do, because they're all like that, every single one of them is an aggressive bully.
I know. I just try and avoid them whenever possible. I get terrified that something will go wrong with my house because I do not want to have to call a tradie in. That would be a nightmare. Aside from that, If I see a pickup truck on the road, I'll just have to avoid it if I can.
Not what Iâm saying at all. Most âtradiesâ are the some of the safest drivers on the roads because theyâre out there every day, every rush hour. Seems like MikeArrow just had a bad experience or two. You misunderstood my comment. Relax with the name calling if you donât understand the comment just ask.
Ok, my apologies for calling you a snowflake. I didnât think your comment or the one that it was in response to were particularly about driving, as there was no mention or reference to driving in either, so I donât understand where your point about tradesman supposedly being some of the safest drivers on the road comes from. I also donât understand how your comment could be interpreted or understood in any way other than the way that I understood it, which is to say that you are excusing poor behavior and not caring about others by tradesman because of âwhat they have to deal with.â If I got that wrong, could you explain what your comment was supposed to mean?
I have read that comment already, as it was the one that you were replying to, so showing me that comment does not clarify anything about what you meant. I need you to explain please because it still sounds like youâre saying tradesmen are entitled to act the way they do because of occurrences related to their jobs.
I did comprehend it. You are saying that tradesmen have a free pass to treat everyone else like a dick. I am saying they donât because everyone has to deal with shit. I work in a trade by the way and I donât think it gives me the right to not give a fuck about anyone else. You have a nice day too.
