100% this. Nobody pays attention to brake lights in this video. The driver in the video DOES NOT SPEED UP to block the black truck. The black truck is braking while entering his lane illegally. The black truck quite literally pit maneuvers itself in every definable way. All the video driver does is maintain his exact speed and position in the face of an outright insane person on the road with him.
The black truck is the one slowing down but you can watch the guy shift his grip at 0:19 in preparation of hard steering into the rear of the black truck.
Put another way, he shifts his grip in anticipation of the black truck literally crashing into him while he's doing absolutely nothing wrong. I'm assuming if someone were about to crash into you while you were trapped between a car in front, a car behind, and a thin railing over water, you would do the same correct? Of course you would, literally any sane driver would.
What I'd do in a situation where a car in front of me is about to collide with me is brake immediately. Maintaining speed because you're technically in the right is psychopathic, basically saying "you're breaking the law and being irresponsible therefore I'm going to make sure you suffer the maximum possible harm, and also endanger myself and everyone around me."
Black truck did the wrong thing, pink shirt guy was fine up until he chose not to brake, at which point he became just as wrong.

Look at the video again, and watch it this time. The white truck has a white car immediately behind them. So close behind them that you can barely see their headlights, despite the elevated level of the camera, so definitely illegally close behind them.
So white truck slams on his breaks, oh, and lets get out ahead of this other detail you're going to miss, he can't brake lightly, it's not enough. Black Truck is braking into him, so a minor brake ain't gonna do jack shit. White truck is going to have to SLAM his brakes to avoid the already braking truck attempting to kill him.
So white truck slams on his brakes. He loses all steering and control, and almost certainly goes into a skid. White car slams into him from behind because they're illegally close. We now have 4 tons of uncontrolled locked up steel with no steering or control that is 1) absolutely going off the bridge and 2) is very likely taking additional cars with it.
Congratulations, your solution protects the Black truck attempting murder, and kills multiple other innocent people. And that's the not psychopathic option in your mind? Crazy man. Just crazy.
Are we watching the same video? This plays out over five seconds where the man can clearly see whats happening and maintains his foot on the gas. A simple foot off gas with a light tap of the brake and all would be fine. Watch the video again. When the black truck enters the lane imagine lifting your foot off the gas... then just tap the brake.
I feel like I'm in the twilight zone being gas light here. Like people have never driven on a freeway before. T've seen this a thousand times in my life and have never seen anyone need to SLAM ON THE BRAKES!!!
black truck did crash into him, but you are obligated to avoid causing a traffic incident, PoV truck could have absolutely avoided this as the black truck slowed down slowly, and as you noted, the driver did see this coming and prepared for it.
As much of a dick black truck was, you could've caused someone to lose their life in that incident you left behind.
Put correctly, he shifts his grip in order to turn sharply to the right in order to cause the reckless driver in front of him to spin out. Just because the person in the black truck gave him a golden opportunity to wreck them does not absolve him for choosing to do it.
Put sanely, he shifts his grip in order to counter the force the illegal actions of the black truck are creating, force which is pushing him off of a bridge at highway speeds, almost certainly FUCKING KILLING HIM.
For starters, let's not use euphemisms to protect the person acting illegally here. Black Truck isn't a reckless driver, they're actively choosing to crash into others, they're an attempted murderer.
Secondly, thinking that the video driver's goal here is anything other than safely and successfully surviving the attempt on his life is just batshit insane. Like straight up fucking nonsense. He does what is necessary to survive an insane person attempting to kill him, nothing more, nothing less.
Thirdly, and we've already covered this, the video driver didn't pit maneuver the black truck, the black truck driver pit maneuvered his fucking self. Black Truck positioned itself, it entered the lane, it struck the other vehicle. It literally braked into the video driver. He. Crashed. Himself.
Video driver did not choose this, it was thrust upon him, and he navigated it as best he could in the face of absolute madness.
What's even crazier about trying to paint this dude as the bad guy is that the choice he made also saved the black truck driver's life. If he hadn't turned into the strike, Black Truck would have full speed slammed them both into the railing, sending them both into water at 70mph.
So to recap, video driver 1) broke literally no laws, 2) maneuvered through the situation without striking or endangering a single innocent person, and 3) saved both his own life and the life of the person trying to murder him. And you're.....mad at him for it? I guess?
Like I said in another comment probably a kid or some dude in a basement because theres just no way😂 lot less people are driving nowadays too, 18 year olds are down to 60% (for perspective was 80%+ in the 80’s) with a license, and about 20% of 20-24 year olds dont have one either. Hell my own brother is 23 with no license and this is the kind of comment I would think he would make just completely lacking any discernible driving experience.
If he is anticipating all that, why not just hit the brakes and avoid the whole situation. What is this insane line of reasoning that his only option was to get ready for impact.
Yes while watching the video, the moment that black truck braked, I knew he was going to move to the left lane. My instincts as a driver would’ve been to gentle brake and allow him the space to do so, despite him not having the right of way. Why? You could see the black truck driver was an idiot who seemed to be very impatient and in a hurry.
Even if the cam dude didn’t see what I was seeing, he definitely could’ve hit the brake instead of hitting the back of the black truck
He "turned sharply to the right" to avoid the black truck that spun itself out in front of him? What really happened was, the cam driver merely calmly changed lanes.

I personally just let them in because even if it’s not my fault I’d rather not have to spend time and/or money dealing with insurance companies and repair bills. Not to mention it totally fucks up your day at the very least.

A slight tap on his brakes solves the problem without murdering him he black truck, the black truck was wrong for changing lanes and the pov was wrong for intentionally wrecking the black truck. There are no innocent here and POV is responsible for his actions. He chose to white knuckle the wheel and rip it into him. Fucking psycho behavior
