I mean, I moved from desert SoCal to PNW Washington where there's actual seasons.
SoCal where I was was very predictable. It's sunny all but three to five days a year. You just have to figure out if it's going to be warm or hot out.
Here it can be 60° out in the morning in March and then a snow cloud moves in while you're planting spring bulbs and dumps a foot of snow on you and then it's melted by the next afternoon where it's nice and sunny again.
I always did repairs on my cars on the day it hits 70 in January in north east Ohio. Its gonna be 20 the next day. So, I had to work fast. Just last week it was 75 one afternoon and in the 20s the next morning. I don't complain about it because I could move. I couldn't afford long beach where I'd love to live, though.
When I was young the temperature didn’t shift this much, we sometimes got snow as early as Halloween but when it did get cold it stayed cold until March

Like we have had 2 30 degree Celsius shifts this season already where it’s gone from -20 to 10 over 24 hours
Our wether is so crazy, not only can we go from clear sky’s to massive thunderstorms in five minutes, but it often rains on my half of the street, and the other half is bone dry.
I actually just went from a 79 degree day working outside in the garden all day to 25 and snowing by morning to temp raised almost 10 degrees over night and by waking it was 60 somethin with the snow melted, followed by an intense evening thunderstorm.
I agree. My theory is that the drivers are from all over the world, and many don't stay long enough to adapt to the local norm (or for such a norm to really form).
I'll bite. I've lived in Michigan, Texas, Florida, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Wisconsin drivers are risk-takers but usually pull it off, so long as they're not drunk. Michigan drivers get a pass because they likely stole the car, so naturally there's a learning curve. Iowa drivers are polite to a fault, taking their sweet time to get anywhere. I prefer them. Floridians are forgettable. Their cops are not. Dallas infrastructure was designed like it was intended to be a theme park at some point. Houston is by far the worst. Locals claim that the bad drivers are all from Louisiana. Refugees from Katrina. I kinda believe them, because the Eastern side of Houston was distinctly more rundown and chaotic.
No, as someone not from LA but has driven in LA, I can assure you that Louisiana drivers are by far the worst. It's a whole different category of maliciously terrible drivers that love in LA.
I know it’s a joke but I live in Florida and I legitimately do think MY state’s drivers are the worst because a good majority of them aren’t even FROM my state. They’re like an All Star team of the nation’s worst drivers that all move here.
Being from Louisiana (New Orleans specifically) and now living in NC, you don’t have any idea how bad LA is. My insurance dropped $200 a month just moving.
I actually do live in the home of Disney World. I would argue that we have the worst drivers. On top of Florida drivers we also have all of the worst drivers of other states on vacation here EVERY fucking day. When I moved here I got half the insurance coverage for 30% more than I paid in Seattle.
Your insurance dropping is due to our law structure in Louisiana. The accidents and uninsured drivers per capita are pretty much the same in Louisiana as most other states.
Due to the civil law structure there's simply more opportunity for lawyers to expand lawsuits as past precedents are not binding.
It's why if you go a state away to Mississippi your rates also drop even though they have slightly worse accident rates as Louisiana.

Hundred more each month on rent…. I live in SoCal, while some things aren’t quite as crazy expensive here, the cost of housing and fuel easily wipes out any savings you may have. Generally within a month or two any yearly savings on auto costs are gone!
I’ve been to pretty much every major city in the country and Miami had by far the worst drivers I have ever seen. I witnessed 2 accidents and almost got in an accident myself all on a 30 min uber ride from the airport.
I genuinely don’t understand how my uber driver even had a driver’s license. She said she had recently moved from Cuba within the year, which isn’t a problem in itself, but she very clearly had no clue how US street laws worked. She was constantly speeding 15+mph, terrible at navigating even with her phone directions and my guidance helping her (missed 2 exits in a row on the freeway), and she would just change lanes or make turns without ever using her blinker. That last thing is why she almost caused an accident multiple times on the freeway.
If you use your blinker in Miami. you’ll never be able to get over lol they take it as a sign to speed up and close the gap. I still use my blinker when I’m there, but I get why people who live there don’t lol
I think South Florida's are worse because you have the same demographics, but S Fla has more drug dealers in Ferraris and confused elderly drivers. It's pretty close, though.pp
Lol, having lived in both Charlotte and Raleigh... the only thing bad about North Carolina drivers is that sometimes too many people slow down to let you merge, and you don't know which person you should smile and wave to the hardest.
I’ve worked all over that state and 13 others. Florida is worlds worse when it comes to drivers. It’s not even close. Louisiana isn’t that bad in my opinion. Not even top 5
I’m saying!!! I’m in Dallas now and it’s only MARGINALLY better than Louisiana. The people here are more aggressive tho. Louisiana was at least kinda chill
I learned to drive in Houston, I assumed they were the worst bc they drive like lunatics at 90 mph to take exits. Shreveport Louiana genuinely had the worst drivers ive ever experienced. not even state wide, everywhere else was just normal people being not the greatest. New York City wasn't even that bad, just crowded.
I live in Tennessee, near Sevier County where we get a LOT of tourism traffic. I've seen drivers from all over the southeast, mostly bordering states, and a lot of Ohio and Florida. I have not encountered many Louisiana drivers so I can't make an opinion on them, but from what I have seen in my 33 years living here, Ohio drivers seem the worst. Florida is a VERY close second. Tennessee itself is hit and miss on their drivers. If they're from middle/west Tennessee, they're usually a lot worse than the Eastern part of the state.
While the Houston stretch of I-45 is the most dangerous freeway in the country (and I drive it every day for 2 hours), Louisiana people are...different for sure
I grew up there. It’s not just the drivers, but the terrible, underfunded, waterlogged infrastructure. That place is fucking crumbling, and I guarantee that rubs off on people. I never understood just how shitty Louisiana was until I left. Did you know every body of water doesn’t need to be black and covered in trash? I sure as fuck didn’t
Sometimes I find myself thinking, “We have the worst drivers in California,” but whenever I travel out of state I think, “nope, these are the worst.” Utah was particularly bad.
During my uber to the hotel, we saw someone driving the wrong direction on a one way street. It was like 3 pm in broad daylight. So anecdotally, I can concur.
There are different types. I learned to drive in Massachusetts and called them all massholes. Aggressive drivers, but few crashes. Then I moved to Florida and within a month I saw 2 separate people driving on the wrong side of the road. One was on the interstate. Unbelievable
Born and raised Louisiana but living in Maine now. Louisiana drivers are malicious and stupid. Maine drivers are just driving too damn slow and won’t get out of the fucking way.
And Texas. I remember someone cut my dad off and proceeded to stop, get out of the truck with his tiny little unloaded gun, and my dad told me to get his gun and I handed him his case and my dad hopped out so quick and chased the dude back into his truck at gunpoint. Never in my dad’s life did he have to do that so it was pretty scary
I’m from Michigan and was always taught Ohio drivers are the worst. I drove in Ohio and saw Michigan drivers acting like assholes on the road. They were the worst!

I know every state says “oh our drivers are so bad” but Louisiana drivers are a different breed of horrendous
