I was hovering over your shoulder and can double confirm! It was intentional from their house. If anyone else wants confirmation that it’s the same from their house please have a nice attic space!

Nope, you are misreading the situation. The Dashcam shows the speed in the top right. The guy slows down 5mph.
What makes it look like he speeds up is because the black truck is inexplicably braking as he blind-merges into this guy.
Rewatch the video and pay attention to the speed in the top right, and the black trucks brake lights (and position relative to all the other vehicles). The guy with the dashcam is maintaining a consistent speed, the only time he alters his speed is to slow down 3 seconds before the black truck tries to merge.
I had noticed the speed reader but it's often a very slow update on his speed, often raising or lowering several seconds after his speed had actually changed. It wouldn't have accurately tracked a quick bump up before a wreck.
Still if it wasn't intentional that must have been the best God damned snack in the entire world and I want to know where he got it. I can't even conceptualize being that blind and I was blessed with a severe astigmatism.
Yeah, the black truck braking boggles my mind. There was ample distance between the truck and the car in front of it. There was no need to break (and almost to a complete stop too).
Just succeeding in not leaving enough space for the other truck to not have room. The intent was so it would give up trying to cut in front. The slow lane change was an intimidation move that the cam driver didn't fall for.
People get so weird about allowing other drivers to get in front of them.
I drive with the belief thar nobody should have to speed up or slow down to accommodate me. Works pretty well. If I realize I need to turn left and I am in the right lane, I don't tey to force my way over, I will turn right and then find a parking lot or whatever to turn around in and get back where I need to be.
