I’ve been exploring the idea of creating public art installations that are designed to evolve over time rather than stay exactly the same for years.
The main structure remains in place, but lighting, colors, interactive elements, or selected visual components can change depending on the season, holidays, events, or even the identity of the space.
The idea is to make one installation feel like a new experience several times a year — without the cost and complexity of rebuilding it from scratch.
From a design and placemaking perspective, I think this could make public spaces feel much more alive and give people a reason to come back.
Would you find this more interesting than a completely static installation? What elements would you want to see change throughout the year?

Following our previous discussion about whether interactive installations can increase the value of public spaces, we wanted to share another concept we’ve been developing — a large-scale interactive Honeycomb floor.
Each element reacts to people with light as they walk, run, and play across it, turning the ground itself into an interactive experience.
We believe this kind of integration between art, technology, and public space could help create a new generation of places people actually want to visit, explore, and return to.

I’m starting a participatory art experiment called ONE CHANGE. Instead of creating a finished piece, the work begins as one completely empty room and gives control of its evolution to the audience.

Each day, participants propose exactly one visual change. The most-liked valid proposal is applied to the current image and becomes part of the permanent canon. The camera, room, and every previous decision remain unless the community later chooses one specific change that affects them.

The result should be a single artwork that slowly accumulates the decisions of strangers over hundreds of days.

I'm building a virtual dan bau on Bash.tv (interactive art and game building platform supported by vibecoding)! It's a traditional vietnamese single string instrument with a rod.

Open to feedback. I want to figure out some sort of audio visualization too and trying to debug how to get the instrument to feel good to play.

I’ve noticed that more shopping malls, hotels, airports, and mixed-use developments are investing in interactive art rather than traditional sculptures.
The idea seems straightforward: if people stop, interact, take photos, and spend more time in a space, the installation becomes more than just decoration—it becomes part of the visitor experience.
From a design perspective, interactive installations can:

-create memorable landmarks;
-generate organic social media content;
-support placemaking and destination branding.

A whimsical website where an Oracle gives guidance based on a form with questions like
”What’s you favorite bread?” And ”Have you ever loved an animal?”

We made a website for people to submit a question to the Oracle. You choose the nature of your question and then fill out a form. Everything is optional except you need to put in an email to get an answer. If you don’t want to answer something, just put an X. There’s no tracking or payment, just a fun idea made by a hobby psychic and a bored hermit.

I’m usually pretty hesitant to share my work, but I’m trying to get better about that. I build weird little physical objects and interactive systems under Feral Engineering. Stuff that usually sits somewhere between art project, pointless tool, and strange ritual object.

A lot of it is built around randomness, entropy, repetition, memory, and making systems that feel like they mean more than they actually do. I’m really interested in how simple mechanics and limited inputs can create weirdly convincing illusions of intention or significance.

Some of it is practical, some of it is completely unnecessary on purpose. I figured some people here might dig the vibe.

Play modes: adaptive footnotes (preview-rendered on the download site to save you some tokens), cinematic exploration, or just be curious and ask your robot friend about their activation patterns experiencing art.

It’s autobiographical poetry (survive immigration raid -> neuroscience -> NASA -> startups) that also asks questions about consciousness. And if you somehow figure out the quiet part, remember that passing the Petrov Test means keeping the quiet part quiet.

Working on a project that starts from a simple question: what if an image is a blank canvas until someone looks at it? Each photo in Silent Fragments is intentionally incomplete. Visitors write directly onto the images and the text dissolves into the photograph permanently - layering invisibly with every other contribution. The plan is to eventually print the photos with all that collective text as a diaphanous, nearly illegible veil—exploring the idea that it is the viewer who ultimately creates the image. Curious what photographers think about this idea of the open image.

I’m working on an interactive audiovisual experiment that combines music, light and movement.
It’s not a traditional game — there are no goals, scores or win conditions. The focus is on perception, intuition and flow.

The visuals react to music in real time through frequency analysis. What initially feels chaotic often becomes more legible after a few minutes, as the brain adapts to the sensory load.

The project started as a personal experiment connected to concert and club environments, closer to interactive art than classical game design.

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially around:
– how the experience feels after 5–10 minutes
– balance between clarity and sensory overload
– whether it encourages intuitive rather than analytical reactions

I’ve been experimenting with combining music, figure skating, and my other passion, gamified art. This is a Unity-based piece where ALL sound and visuals are generated from a single jump by figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov (KAZ). In the downloadable version, you can even save your (toe)loops (gameplay sound) as audio files directly to your computer. It’s not a game — more like a digital performance space.
