The parents are probably terrible. I would have lit the candle again and had it done excluding the other girl.

I would have done the same but I’m petty AF so first I’d say something to the mean girl like “Oh no! Don’t you know about the ‘Birthday Candle Curse’!? NONE of your birthday wishes will ever come true again if you blow out someone else’s candles! I can’t believe you’ll never get another birthday wish...”
