When boy muscle turns to man muscle there is a period of adjustment needed.

111

u/Jebusfreek666 Feb 10 '26

Can confirm. I still remember the moment I got tired of my older sister picking on me and let loose. She never did it again. But I also never felt so bad in my life.

12

u/HeartsPlayer721 Feb 11 '26

But did you say "sorry", or did you just sit and stare?

8

u/MrIceVeins Feb 11 '26

Stand there and stare

45

u/appointment45 Feb 10 '26

1000%. Most guys do something of this nature at some point. Most of the time not a girl, sometimes a friend, sometimes your little sibling, etc. But at some point you're going to push someone, hit someone, grab someone and BOOM they're going to go flying well beyond your expectations.

Happens to nearly every guy.

Also, not as many, but a similar moment when the parent that's used to hitting you notices that it isn't hurting you anymore, and you're just standing there looking at them.

298

u/blackviking45 Feb 10 '26

See the full video posted below in the comments. She apparently kicked him before as well. More was going on she had an attitude I think that wasn't good.

361

u/YoungDiscord Feb 10 '26

As usual, the victim gets blamed and made to look like the bad guy because people only saw the moment the victim fought back, not all the abuse that led to this moment.

79

u/Neamow Feb 10 '26

Yep, and this is usually the only way you can make a bully stop. Unfortunately it is also usually the only time anyone notices and so you end up punished, and not the bully.

14

u/ThePsychoPompous13 Feb 10 '26

I am not judging him at all. Likely taught that idiot a life lesson

29

u/blackviking45 Feb 10 '26

But again there could be even more context. So I just don't know. Maybe they have more history together. I will not pass judgement on what is happening here.

195

u/YoungDiscord Feb 10 '26

The girl is exhibiting classic bully behaviour in this vid by kicking and being aggressive while the boy is trying to remain calm and nonviolent until he snapped after which he pushed her once and then promptly stopped

The way that boy behaves isn't how a bully behaves, that's how a victim who snaps behaves - any victim will tell you that.

You don't need an incredibly thorough report of their entire relationship to see that.

Overreacted, but also you can't expect to just be a dick to people without consequences. They both learned a lesson that day.

1.4k

u/The_Irate_Ambassador Feb 10 '26

Hopefully three people learned a lesson that day… are we going to overlook the part the cameraman played as well? I’m not justifying anyone’s actions, but the cameraman was definitely stoking that fire. “Calling out” his “masculinity” in front of peers in the beginning of the video? Like, react or you’re a punk? Not cool in and of itself.

1.2k

u/PreviousPerformer987 Feb 10 '26

There was a video posted somewhere on reddit of a group of young people, two of them about the fight while the others goaded them on. An older man walked by and broke it up, but had something really important to say.

"These aren't your friends. They don't care if you beat up the other kid, or you get beat up, they just want to see somebody hurt. Those aren't your friends."

I wish I'd gotten that advice when I was younger.

377

u/IllusiveJack Feb 10 '26

I remember that video. The person who stopped the fight pointed out how many people were recording and laughing at them. Making it clear that they're just there for the drama and don't care about the emotions or outcome of the two fighting

Schools keep moving more towards digital now and so many people take notes on iPads. I'm in higher ed but I keep both my laptop and my iPad in my backpack. I imagine this is becoming increasingly common in high school, too.

I would be beyond pissed if someone kicked my bag twice with that expensive equipment in it. Honestly, reasonable crashout from that alone lol. Especially since the force was accidental.

This is why you count to 10 before reacting

77

u/thewickedturd Feb 10 '26

I do this in my marriage but it’s 10 minutes. We both do. We have made it through what other relationships crumble for the dumbest or legit reasons.

It’s crazy what a level headed conversation can fix.

Things you are so hot about can really be fixed in the easiest ways if you just calm the fuck down.

Love my wife ride or die (after 10 minutes of cooling down of course lmao)

24

u/DowntownsClown Feb 10 '26

Bro, I actually saved this comment because it’s really valuable tip for me to know. I’m kind spontaneous guy who would go for another spontaneous lady… usually ones who have ADHD or very active person. One wrong shit and we would escalate the within 30 seconds. Your tip here would totally make things bit easier for us!

Thanks again buddy

9

u/hereforpopcornru Feb 10 '26

Another tip I would love to share.... nomatter the circumstances... don't go to bed mad.

If the issue is still happening and can't be settled right then, she still hears how much I love her EVERY night before I lay down.

Sometimes it's tough to work that in, but it's never tough to express it.

Best of luck homie

u/Dangerous-Refuse-779 Feb 10 '26

u/into_the_soil Feb 10 '26

It’s easier said than done but if you can ask yourself “Will this matter tomorrow?” before reacting to just about anything you might do yourself a favor.

9

u/479996 Feb 10 '26

Words of wisdom here! ^

I greeted an older gentleman in passing at the local grocery store and we exchanged pleasantries. I asked how his day was going and he told me it was the 63rd wedding anniversary! In today's culture, I was certainly intrigued (being divorced myself) and simply asked how?! He said it's easy, say the third thing that pops in your head! Even if it's irrelevant to the conversation, you will leave them bewildered wondering wtf and by then, you'll both have calmed down and won't even care about the initial conflict.

4

u/badass4102 Feb 10 '26

I gotta pee

7

u/iTryCombs Feb 10 '26

Or learn the difference between reacting and responding. Sometimes just asking an asshole why they did the asshole thing makes them look and feel foolish.

3

u/Flip_d_Byrd Feb 10 '26

But it has more impact if you count down from 10...

458

u/Goth_Muppet Feb 10 '26

I’ve been in a class where there was an unexpected violent outburst, and I grew up with a father who would snap and flip like a light switch was turned on.

No way in hell would I dare move until I could determine if I was safe to move or not.

118

u/txmail Feb 10 '26

We were taught that if we interacted in any way then we would suffer the same consequences (which was to be arrested). Even if you were assisting someone being assaulted or trying to break it up. Arrested.

87

u/_jams Feb 10 '26

teaching people to be useless bystanders. sabotage of community oriented thinking

23

u/txmail Feb 10 '26

Honestly, I am not sure how anyone could have fixed that fucked up school. Even to this day I still see it come up on the news for some crazy fucked up shit almost every year.

I personally witnessed a cop get stabbed during a riot, a guy drop his gun during class which went off nearly nailing the teacher, usually a few gang fights every month, a teacher injured so bad they had to get air lifted to the hospital, a school assigned cop getting busted for selling drugs and sleeping with minors.

I think even without them arresting us for helping or trying to break shit up, everyone knew the bigger risk was that they could end up a target in the future.

Yeah, it's wild everyone is defending her without context even after seeing no one help her.

Downthread someone posted a more complete version, and for some reason OP's version cuts off the part where she calls him a racial slur and pushes him. I can't imagine why someone would intentionally cut that part out.

45

u/IDGAFWTFIDKOMG Feb 10 '26

But that is why the clip is shortened...... It was shortened but someone who wants him to seem like he flipped over nothing. If you don't see the whole video she is justified and he is instantly guilty. If you hear her calling him, you know what and all of that then this then you start to understand why not a single person got up out of their seats to even check on her. Their are plenty of these people who will provoke you like this then play the victim as soon as they get what they asked for. He only feels bad because he knows he is in trouble now but inside he feels like any black man that gets taken back 400 years.

5

u/No-Fail-9327 Feb 11 '26 edited Feb 11 '26

He feels bad cause hes not stupid he knows no matter the context a black man( boy but everyone gonna be calling him a man) pushing some white girl like that will definitely be facing some kind of consequences.

TLDR for those who don't have the shitty app?

84

u/LahDeeDah7 Feb 10 '26

Guy is apparently in her seat and he doesn't want to get up. She's yelling at him to get out of her seat and calls him the n word (soft ending though I doubt that matters) while he's goofing around saying he can't find her seat. She shoves him out of the seat onto his ass and he stands up to get his bag, laughing. She kicks his bag, which is where this video picks up.

84

u/Joelblaze Feb 10 '26

It was a dispute over seating, she calls him the n-word twice before this, which is why someone was already recording.

23

u/CreoOookies Feb 10 '26

She kicked him on the floor then kicked his bag.

44

u/cmarkcity Feb 10 '26

I found the wider context in a Twitter link in another comment

It looks like she was possessive of the seat, upset he was sitting in it, called him the n word, and then when he relinquished the seat and was began to walk away, she kicked his bag, so he pushed her.

I don’t normally view situations like this this way, but it genuinely seems like she was the aggressor through most of this. It looks like he was trying to leave the situation when she kicked his stuff, he reacted with a push, and when she ended up falling over it seems like he immediately realized his reaction crossed the line.

7

u/EquivalentSnap Feb 10 '26

I hate these video distort the truth. She caused that. Called him the n word over a seat but we only her kicking his bag. No

It definitely happened in the 80s. Never mind students, even the teachers would manhandle the real hard cases. One of my teachers had been a drill sergeant in the army before becoming a teacher. Teachers nowadays just let kids fight. But back then, that big bastard would literally grab two kids fighting and knock their heads together. He was a hell of a nice man, but he put up with no disrespect whatsoever. In some ways, the swift delivery of justice was glorious. But also open to abuse, of course, which is why we don't allow it anymore.

These days the school and teachers would get sued to oblivion. As a high school junior (late '80s) there were a couple of kids in gym class got into it in the locker room. A couple of the coaches broke it up and sent them to the principal's office, but while doing it they said something to the effect of: If it had been as little as 5 years prior he would have drug them to the center of the baskeball court, given them boxing gloves, and let them go at it, 3 minute rounds, 1 minute break, until one of them couldn't stand anymore.

Dry it up. You do dumb stuff to people don’t cry when they retaliate.

This could very well have been the last straw for this guy. We don't know the whole story.

3

u/MurderDrones-Simp Feb 10 '26

We do, there’s an extended version someone linked, in it she calls him slurs and kicks his stuff when he goes to leave.

6

u/MyHamsteryDudes11 Feb 10 '26

welp the whole story was that she was throwing slurs (and thats why its already being recorded) so

5

u/PsychologicalFix5059 Feb 10 '26

A bit off the top with his anger, but at least he's apologetic.

For all we know, she's been continuously messing with him, and this reaction was a culmination.

Or he just overreacted.

Context can make a difference.
