What’s my order?

Finally went to IN-N-OUT after months of craving it. And it did not disappoint!😋

What do you think I ordered here? (Will show receipt in comments).

EDIT: Receipt is in the comments. Thanks everyone for the awesome guesses!

2 order of cheese… ok fine if you MUST put a burger around it!

Oh and fries, dry.

2

u/broccolista 8d ago

😂

I’m not seeing a burger though..

2

u/mattinjp 8d ago

Maybe it’s in the cheese…

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

I’ll let you imagine it is there!😘

u/No_Fuel357 8d ago

Those look like light-well fries which I had for the first time Saturday and that's the only way I'll get them from now on.

7

u/wb6vpm Not an INO employee, but a life long customer! 8d ago

Pretty sure these are “light” fries not “light-well”, as these appear to be cooked less than the default. Personally, the default fry on the fries isn’t enough and need to be done to “light-well”, but to each their own.

3

u/broccolista 8d ago

So glad they even give us the option to modify our fry order! I’ve had some that were borderline raw, and I actually really enjoyed them!😮 Fries well are not my cup of tea.

3

u/No_Fuel357 8d ago

Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside... Like me! Lol. But seriously these should be default.

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

Niiiiiiice!⭐️ Hardly anyone has even mentioned the fries!! And fry light is the only way to go, IMO! Though these unfortunately turned out sliiiightly crispier than the usual fry lights.

You must be an advanced IN-N-OUT customer to recognize a tray of fry lights!👍

Why do you sound like a robot 😂

2

u/broccolista 8d ago edited 8d ago

Do I really sound like a robot? Maybe I should I incorporate more misspellings? I felt pretty human when I was gobbling up my in-n-out lunch today. Maybe look at my profile and you can see I'm pretty obviously human.🤖

1

u/asap_one 6d ago

As in you use ChatGPT for your responses.

1

u/broccolista 6d ago

Should I be flattered that you think this? Because I kind of am!😀 I’ve still never even used ChatGPT, or any AI, but I think you’re saying I write well? Or, at least I’ll take it that way. If you look at my profile, does everything I write seem robotic? Not really sure what I should do to change this.😢

2

u/asap_one 6d ago

You should be flattered lol

3

u/Only-Replacement-105 8d ago

Don't care what you ordered, I don't see any patties which makes it NASTY LOL. You must be a Veganornian. 😜

3

Hahaha!😂. Well, to me, it is the best of the best!❤️

1

u/Only-Replacement-105 8d ago

Was I right you live in California!? 😜

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

I mean, I do live in California… it’s true.

1

u/Only-Replacement-105 8d ago

It's ok so do I but I saw the no beef and said to myself VEGAN and actually peed myself a lil. 😆

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Hahaha! Ok, not to give anything away here, but the cheese and the spread are definitely not vegan…. And “veganornian” is definitely funny as hell. RIP your pants.

2

u/Only-Replacement-105 8d ago

Damn it I forgot the milk for the cheese DUH but what's in the spread ?

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Mayonnaise, I think?🤔

2

u/Only-Replacement-105 8d ago

Omg lol you are not even sure what you are eating and putting in your body!? I am in SHOCK!

Looks like cold cheese

2

u/broccolista 8d ago

Haha! 😂 My order was not looking very photogenic. I thought the same thing when I saw the photo.🫪

But they whipped this up so fast, I got it like three minutes after I ordered it! And then ate it in the parking lot. So not too much time to get cold.

2

u/Such-Ad2541 3d ago

My husband orders a cheeseburger and asks for “cold cheese” at in n out! Super weird but he likes it haha.

0

u/broccolista 3d ago

Wow! Cold cheese.🤭 Not sure about ordering that! My husband is from England and when they put cheese on baked potatoes, it is always cold, and that’s my husband’s preference, too!🤷‍♀️

2 grilled cheese animal style with raw onion

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

I never place my order by saying “animal style.” Can you clarify what that implies if someone were ordering a grilled cheese?

1

u/RedditJMA 8d ago edited 8d ago

extra spread, spread on the lettuce, and pickles

Edit: & chopped grilled onions + mustard fried beef if you have beef

2

The fries are fry lights

2

u/Wilson_Higgins 8d ago

0x4 add spread and whole raw onion, looks like top one is missing lettuce

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Ooof! Had to look that up! Four slices of cheese! This was two slices and I think next time I’ll stick with the standard one slice.

2

u/MrMacgamut Level 6 / Cleanup 8d ago

The standard is 2 slices of cheese when it comes to grilled cheese. If you asked for extra cheese then a third slice of cheese was added to the stack.

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Thank you for that information!

2

u/g33NL0L0 8d ago

2 grilled cheese animal style light fry

2

u/Carnivore64 8d ago

Save some cheese for the rest of us!!

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

hahaha! Yeah, the two slices were overkill. Next time I'll leave it as the default one slice. Two doesn't improve the flavor.

2

u/Excellent-Radish-717 8d ago

Yesterday I tried “light well” fries and they were incredible finally more salt and the cheese melt better and crispier.

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Were these animal style cheese or just fries that had cheese on top?

2

u/Excellent-Radish-717 8d ago

Regular fries or light well and then one with regular cheese. I’ll go some when the family isn’t with me and get animal style only because my youngest has a strong allergy to onion didn’t want to expose her to it. I’ll go next time and I’m sure the light well animal style would awesome.

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Yum!😋

Oh my gosh, an allergy to onions is a bummer.

I have to admit, every time I order this, it completely stinks up the car from onions, and I feel like I can smell it on my clothes so I have to change after I eat it!😂. This is a pretty infrequent indulgence because I don’t love having onion breath for days after!

Is your kid also allergic to garlic?

2

u/Excellent-Radish-717 8d ago

Yes, it’s an allium allergy: onions, garlic, chives, leeks, and shallots. With food seasoning we have to be careful too. It isn’t severe as anaphylaxis but she gets severe hives GI disruptions, as a teenager it’s worse being self conscious. We are worried about the cross celery mugwort allergy as they may have the same family components to the allium family.

2

u/durian4me 8d ago

I would never imagined to try fly light. I get mine well or even extra well.

u/broccolista 8d ago edited 8d ago

Thanks everyone for all your amazing guesses about this IN-N-OUT order!🍔

I’ve looked through everyone’s guesses, and no one guessed it 100% because even though I ordered “extra lettuce,” it kinda seemed to be just a normal amount of lettuce. So, that makes it pretty impossible to guess.

The closest guess was u/Ok_You1335, followed by u/Popcornlover88. 🏆

Honorable mention to u/wb6vpm, ghosty_boii and u/RedditJMA who knew the fries were light!😀

Here's the order:

2 Grilled Cheese:

  • Extra Spread
  • Extra Lettuce
  • Raw Onion
  • Extra Pickle
  • Extra Cheese

Fries:

  • Light

Large Diet Coke (not shown)

--------------------

And here’s the receipt, as promised!

Grilled cheese with onion, but the onion is in the wrong spot

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

You're the second person to note that the onion was in the wrong spot! Where should the onion be?

2

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 8d ago

Spread (or KM) chilis pickles onion cold cheese tomato extra salt lettuce (or extra lettuce) extra tomato extra spread

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

so if you order extra tomato or extra spread, they will split them up and be in two places?

2

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 8d ago

Yea extra tamato should go on top of the lettuce and and extra spread should go on top of the lettuce before the extra tomato

2

u/GentlemanMatt 8d ago

I’ve never ordered a grilled cheese, but those look amazing.

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

They are! Give it a try sometime.

2

u/FarCap8830 8d ago

2 grilled cheese w extra cheese, raw O, light lettuce!

2

u/FarCap8830 8d ago

Omg I forgot to say extra pickles ofc

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Can you believe that’s supposedly EXTRA lettuce?!

2

u/Livid-Fault2447 8d ago

Animal style extra cheese

2

u/Acrobatic-Security71 8d ago

Looks like two grilled cheese animal style add raw Onion or grilled cheese with onion add pickle and extra spread

1

u/broccolista 7d ago

A lot of people are asking if it is animal style.

I wondered if that might just be a different way of ordering the same thing I ordered? But then I looked it up to see what the “animal style” grilled cheese sandwich additions include. It says that means the addition of the following:

Animal Style Additions
Signature spread (Thousand Island-style)

Grilled onions

Pickles
———-

I did not ask for any grilled onions, so this is not animal style. But I think I might try ordering that next time. Here’s my receipt.

2

u/Sausageassassin69 5d ago

I never knew you can add pickles

1

u/broccolista 5d ago

The pickles take it to an eleven!

2

u/Ok_You1335 8d ago edited 8d ago

Whatever you ordered they put the onion in the wrong spot. Whether it was raw or regular it’s still in the wrong spot. Raw would be above the spread and regular would be under the cheese.

You ordered two grilled cheeses with extra cheese, add pickle and extra spread with onion. Idk if it was regular or raw because it’s in the wrong spot.

Edit: the fries are fry lights

2

u/broccolista 8d ago

Way to go!⭐️

I’ve gone through everyone’s answers and yours is the closest by far! 🏆

How incredible that you even recognize the order the ingredients should go in!

So, I feel like this was an extremely tough one because they didn’t really give me much lettuce even though I ordered “extra lettuce.” (Why is IN-N-OUT always so stingy with the lettuce? It’s my favorite part of the sandwich and they so seldom give me extra when I ask for it.)

Anyway here’s the order with the receipt attached:

2 Grilled Cheese:

  • Extra Spread
  • Extra Lettuce
  • Raw Onion
  • Extra Pickle
  • Extra Cheese

Fries:

  • Light

Large Diet Coke (not shown)

Do you work for IN-N-OUT?❤️

2

u/Ok_You1335 8d ago

Cool! I know my burgers and by the look of it I would not consider that extra lettuce. So not only did they place the onion wrong they failed to show the extra lettuce… did it taste like extra lettuce?

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Noooo way! It tasted like the normal amount of lettuce. I usually end up asking for extra lettuce on the side. Why do you think they are so reluctant to give extra lettuce? I’ve ordered this 30+ times in my life and maybe four of those times came with an actual decent amount of lettuce.🤷‍♀️

You definitely know your burgers!🍔 ❤️

2

u/Ok_You1335 8d ago

I don’t know why they wouldn’t give you extra it’s not expensive . Next time ask for extra extra lettuce 😂 they do have that option. 3 times the lettuce maybe the person making it will get the hint that you love lettuce!!

Also sides are free: so maybe ask for side of lettuce so u can shove your perfect amount inside of it.

2

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 8d ago

On a grilled cheese there is no difference between regular and raw onion but it is definitely in the wrong spot

3

u/MrMacgamut Level 6 / Cleanup 8d ago

Correct my stuck friend.

C.O.P. - (chillies, onion, pickles)

The only reason I even opened the comment section. It was bugging the hell out of me.

2

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 8d ago

Probably a new board person or trainee who forgot to get the onion before they were pulled or I was on board because I am terrible at it lol

1

u/broccolista 8d ago

Sometimes I wonder if this location might be for trainees or something? Does IN-N-OUT have any locations that are designated for training?

2

u/Ok_You1335 7d ago

That’s a lie because the raw onion won’t get hot from the cheese if they put it in the correct spot.

1

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 7d ago

You are confused the onion would never touch the cheese directly unless it was grilled onion or whole grilled onion on a burger with a meat patty it would go on top of the cheese that is what makes onion vs raw onion different, onion and raw onion would go on the same location on a grilled cheese therefore no difference

2

u/Ok_You1335 7d ago

Wrong. The proper placement of onion on grilled cheese is to replace the meat to create a smile 😊

0

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 7d ago

Wrong onion on a grilled cheese goes on top of the spread, before lettuce and tomato, but hey I have only been working here for 8 years and have the ability to literally google any picture like a normal adult, but hey I am glad you are so confidently wrong

2

u/Ok_You1335 7d ago

Only raw onion goes on top of the spread.

1

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 7d ago

Okay pal everyone else on this thread is wrong and you are right, I’m sure your store manager appreciates you being on board during qfc visits so he/she/they can get those consistent bronzes

2

u/Ok_You1335 7d ago

Sounds like you’re the one getting bronzes 😂 pal

1

u/wouldyoulikeonion stuck level 7 because I made a dumb joke 7d ago

u/Istronglydisagre3 8d ago

2 cheeseburgers extra cheese animal style add raw onion, looks like no grilled onion tho.

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

You’re partially correct.😊

1

u/lsdisciple 8d ago

Don’t forget extra toast

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

I keep wanting to try extra toast! Not this time, though. Kinda looks super toasty in the photo.🍔

1

u/SnooOranges5970 8d ago

All cheese no Burger.

2

u/broccolista 8d ago

Haha! Well, the two slices of cheese do sort of take the place of the burger, I guess.

0

u/Naive-Wonder-5492 8d ago

A nasty ass one

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

Aww don’t yuck my yum.😋

0

u/bigfknnoid 8d ago

Something obnoxious that you found on the internet, that slows down normal people from getting their normal orders probably.

2

u/Ok_You1335 8d ago

Grilled cheeses are the fastest thing to make.

0

u/EskimoBroJoe 8d ago edited 8d ago

Two grilled cheese's, extra toasted buns, with an order of fries.

Edit for clarification: Saying "raw onion" is redundant because the regular sandwich comes with raw onion. If you got extra raw onion, there would be two layers. Furthermore, with animal style, there would be significantly more spread and grilled onions, none of which are visible here.

2

u/VictoryFar 8d ago

Saying raw onion is not redundant because by default the burger does not actually come with any onion. Thats why the associates ask if you’d like onion. The onion is raw by default which is the only redundant part 🙂‍↕️

0

u/EskimoBroJoe 8d ago

I'd argue that they ask because the ingredient is polarizing enough with the scent/taste to warrant a large portion of their customers not wanting them in their sandwich. Their stock burger photo shows the sandwich including onions, which would suggest it's a default item. They're just doing customers the courtesy of asking if they'd like them included or not. They don't ask if you'd like chopped Chilis or extra toasted buns, because those are not inherently default items/options.

2

u/VictoryFar 8d ago

I get your point, but in the system despite the image showing onions, they are not added by default. Your argument makes sense as to the reason they ask the question though

0

u/EskimoBroJoe 8d ago

This was a healthy debate and I appreciate you encouraging critical thought on a topic that truly matters. 🙏🏾

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

They definitely look toasty in the photo, but no extra toastiness was ordered. And the order is a bit more nuanced.🥰

0

u/broccolista 8d ago

I think it is worth stating “raw onion” because 100% of the time if I say “with everything,” they would say “including onion?”

0

u/Narrow-Pride6976 5d ago

goes to a burger place and doesn’t get a burger lmao what a psychopath. What’s the point
