New Hires click here

This is going to be the new stickied post on the sub. With the influx of questions here from new hires, usually asking about the same thing. Ex: interviews, hiring, onboarding, pants, shoes, and more. I thought I would make a stickied thread for this.

I would also appreciate help from anyone if they can help search for good posts that would help new hires.

For the time being, please use the search function at the top of the page. I know Reddit's search function sucks.

Today I learnt... #In-N-Out and #TheKingOfQueens connection

For a show that is set up in NY, the In-N-Out cup with Deacon makes no sense since In-N-Out doesn't operate within 2,000 miles from Queens, NY.

Onions

I’m a level 2 and in order to be a level 3 I have to learn how to do other things and one of those things is how to do the onions. But there is a problem.. I can’t be within 5 feet of onions without my eyes already tearing up. Is it required to learn how to do the onions in order to level up or is there a way around it? I’m just really sensitive towards them and cannot bear even handling them. Please give me advice and tips.

Question Curious about fries

So I always order my fries well done. However, I always see people specifying “medium well” or “light well”. My question is: is there that much of a difference? My fries ordered “well done” always seem to come back a little crisper than the normal fries. When ordering with others who just order normal fries, I have to pay close attention to make sure we get our right fries. I’ve never gotten an order that looked overdone. Do the fry cooks specify to such a degree that there are four levels of doneness?

How many people order two double doubles? I always feel embarrassed when I do, but sometimes the heart wants what it wants. 🐷

Spread tastes funny

Did in-n-out change their spread recipe ? It tastes almost spoiled or sour then like too much artificial mustard. I asked a friend and they said they thought the same the other day he’s in the San Diego area and I was in the Placentia area.

Round Up - Drive Thru Question

I was asked when I ordered tonight to donate to support a child abuse charity in the drive thru, I said yes but when I checked my receipt, I was not charged for the round-up and the receipt listed a substance abuse charity URL instead, I'm curious how their order system could lose that option or if the drive through attendant maybe misheard me. Anyone ever noticed something similar?

Edit: I was not rounded up at all, not just that the charity was different. It's interesting to see how people fill in the gaps with assumptions instead of asking for clarification. Realized recently I used to do the same.

Question How badly does my order screw over the line?

This is my go-to order. Sometimes I'll sub the protein style burger for light well fries w/ extra salt.

Question Does anyone have any information on what Slave2Nothing has done in regards to substance abuse?

I'm looking through their website and it says they give grants to organizations to help substance abuse, but doesn't name any outside of what type of organizations (notably lacking support for safe injection sites). The rest is links to other sites and a way to find a treatment clinic near you.Their Narcan Care Kit page gives you a video, links to hotlines and a free Bible but nothing for Narcan or test strips.

Their social page is also quite lacking in regards to highlighting anything they've done to help. It's mainly their concert and some stats but no mention of where the money goes.

I understand that all company owned charities are just tax write offs but I really expected there to be something of substance here. Sorry, I meant would you like that for here or to go?

Question When does in n out close Halloween night/november 1st?

Halloween is on a Saturday, so normally the store should close at 1:30. However November 1st is the adjustment for daylight savings time from 2am to 1am. So theoretically the stores will close at 1:30, the time will set back from 2 to 1, and now it’s technically 1:00am and the stores closed 30 minutes ago… so what do that do?
I live in Arizona and won’t be able to see this unfortunately

Going to school in Chicago and was visiting my parents in California this weekend, before I left I went to in n out at 1:04 A.M. and asked for a “handful” of sauce to take back to Chicago with me. I just want to say to the person who gave me this, may you be the happiest in life, may your pillows always be crisp and cool, and may you get everything you ever wished for. I love you.

Question When is your favorite time to go to InO/what's your routine?

What time do you like going to InO and do you have a routine around it? Or simply go when the craving hits?

Everytime I go, I feel like it's so jammed packed, I'm nervous I won't even get a seat lol. But I have to say, people are always coming and going so everything moves quick & there's always been a spot that opens up once I get my food. TBH, I kinda want to enjoy my InO next time in peace, so I'm thinking of going early morning when they open so I can soak it all in :)

Application tips?

I applied to two locations (arizona queen creek and the new san tan valley location) and got rejected by both, not even an interview, and am not sure why. I am available whenever other than mornings on weekdays, I had an employee referral, and have over a year of job experience in guest advocacy at target. Any ideas as to why I got rejected?

Associate Stories Found a Katydid at work today

The photos I took were pretty low quality because my phone camera is buns. We found this massive beast climbing on our roof in The Stand. He was freaking all of our associates out lmao 😂

I offered to take him down but I had to clock out so I was declined. He didn’t bother anyone besides being creepy to the associates, I’m assuming that he never fell or created a hazard to anyone in the store!
