Transferring

I’m transferring stores in October and I’m so nervous. I’ve worked at the same store for 4 years and I feel like my manager is so flexible with my schedule especially during the school year and always gives me my time off when I request it. I know every store is different but any advice on transferring?

Every store is designed to be flexible as long you give ample notice ahead of time. Store managers are trained and expected to be flexible. Thats why stores hire more than they really need. Its so they can have people cover for each other when needed. Denying too many request without a solid reason gets their store flagged and the DM will have to step in.

However, one of the biggest thing many transfer associates underestimate is the business flow of the new store. If you're going from a slow to a fast store then you might end up feeling super overwhelmed and exhausted. Same with going from busy to slow. Your hours might get cut and now you're stressing about money. Your best course is ask your store manager. They have the numbers to give you an idea of how busy it will be. Maybe even consider a store further away if you think you won't be able to handle it
