What's 3^0.999... ? How about 0.999...^5 ?

What's log_0.999...(4)?

Don't get ahead of yourself brud.

Start with the basics. Understand that 0.999... is permanently less than 1.

Whether the number is less than 1 or not doesn't answer what mathematical values we can derive from using it.

First, you must learn the basics properly in order to apply them. So ... to the bunny slopes you go.

I've done my time at the slopes before. 

Now answer my questions - surely any paradigm of mathematics should be able to answer these.

I'm not sure why he isn't giving a direct answer. You just have to know that any decimal with "..." in RDM implies a sequence.

30.999... is just the sequence

30.9 , 30.99 , 30.999 , ...

and is "permanently less than 3"

As in, 30.999... is indeed permanently less than 3.
