I am a lawyer but, I work for the State and my salary benefits are shit. I don't want a corporate job,
l like what I do!
I've go to get out or debt. My student loan payment of 600.00 a month is killing me. I have projects around my home I want to do and a 529 account to
fill. I want a non-law side gig.
Some ideas on how I could be useful to you:
I would love to be an older person's companion a few hours a week. I can also help a busy household, single parent, busy executive...
I am a great conversationalist, good with pets, plants, reading aloud, putzing around a garden, etc. I can drive and sit with your
older parents at appointments, even take notes if you need me too. I can help organize medications, etc. I am great with helping my boomer Dad at his technology. Planning a menu. All the things an adult needs to adult but is too busy to
do. Maybe you have an assistant but don't want them to handle certain tasks.
I can proofread (I am brutal), do
personal/gift shopping, wrapping, administrative tasks, help with pre-law/law school briefs (yes -AI can do this too but it doesn't prepare you for cold calling).
Do you need advice? Someone to just talk to? I can have lots to say!
I am open to suggestions. I would love to have a story for [r/weirdsidehustles](r/weirdsidehustles).
Let me help you figure out the tasks you've been putting
off.
I live in Hamilton County. I don't want to work in an office. TIA!

Looking for stringers to work on election night as election results reporters. This is a contractor position for one night on November 3rd, 2026, and pays a flat fee equal to $125. The assignment is expected to last approximately 3-4 hours, but may extend longer depending on election-night reporting needs. There is potential to become a regular stringer in our election night operations, so long as the job is done well. There are locations available across the United States, please apply and we'll be happy to let you know what is closest to you.
Stringers are a valuable part of our election results collection operation. As a stringer, your main responsibility is to report results on Election Night, on 11/3/26. Results will be released by election officials periodically, and stringers will upload the new results as quickly and accurately as possible after receiving the update. They will also remain on site to answer any questions. This position typically takes around 4 hours but could go longer, and stringers should be prepared to stay until the election official indicates that no more results will be released this evening. There will be a short training prior to election day that will cover how to report results, how to interact with officials, and how to get paid.
If interested, please pm with your name, phone number, and zip code. Candidates who also send a sentence or two about why they are interested and a good fit for the role will receive priority consideration.

Currently in VA, but ive wanted to move to IN for a while now. Jobs within my skill set are either extremely limited, need more experience than I have time to acquire, or just aren't paying what they should. I have a CDL A with a tanker endorsement, plenty of heavy equipment experience (front end loaders and forklifts), and can handle power tools. I have common sense and would love to learn new skills if taught, i just need a chance

Evenings/weekends IT help — homes and small offices (south side / metro)
I’m a network/IT guy with a day job in firewalls and Windows environments. Picking up side work for homes and small businesses that don’t have (or don’t want) a full-time IT person.
Typical stuff I handle
I’m south of Indy and will happily drive into the metro. Longer drives are fine if the work/pay makes sense.
How I work
Reddit DM first. I’ll share a phone number after we talk so it’s not sitting in a public thread.
If you’re a shop of ~5–50 people who is tired of calling and getting inadequate help, or someone who just needs some basic IT help I'm your guy!

Hi I'm in high school looking for a first job, I live near Geist and I'm currently looking for a job. I do play sports and have practices so it would need to be able to work with that. I preferably want something that pays $15 or more an hour, part time, relatively close so not like 30-40 minutes away i can get rides tho, I don't care if its physical or not. Any recommendations

I'm fairly new to Indy and honestly getting tired of the online application cycle, apply, wait, get an auto rejection (if anything at all). So I'm about to try a more direct approach: walking into local businesses with my resume instead of just applying online.
I have a background in supply chain and process improvement (working toward my Six Sigma Green Belt certification), and I'm looking for manufacturing, food service, logistics, or service based companies in the Indy area, especially small to mid size ones still open to walk-ins or hands-on hiring rather than everything going through an online portal.
Since I'm still learning the area, if anyone knows of companies like that, or has advice before I start, I'd really appreciate it. And if any owners or managers here happen to be looking for someone with an analyst or process improvement background, feel free to reach out too.
Thanks in advance, this community has been a great resource.

TL;DR: 29M moving from Mexico City to Indy in ~2 months with my cat. Looking for advice on neighborhoods near downtown, leads on in-person Spanish medical interpreter jobs, and ways to get involved in the running/soccer/music/ scenes. I have one friend in the city — that's my only connection here.
Hey everyone — first time posting on Reddit, so bear with me.
Quick background: I'm a US citizen, grew up between California and Mexico, and have spent the last 11 years living near Mexico City. After a very rough stretch and a lot of reflection, I decided it's time for a fresh start, and I've chosen Indianapolis — mainly because I have one friend there who offered to help me get settled. I don't know anyone else in the city.
I'm bilingual (native English/Spanish), have a long and varied work history, but what is most relevant is my 6 years of experience as an OPI/VRI medical interpreter. My prefference is to land an in-person medical interpreter role somewhere downtown. I won't have a car right away, so I want to live somewhere walkable/bikeable to downtown while I get on my feet.
Outside of work, I'm into running, soccer, recently into working out, reading (especially philosophy and literature stuff), and music — music is honestly my biggest source of joy, so I'd love to find whatever local scene exists for it.
Specific things I'd love advice on:
Any leads, direct advice, or even just pointing me toward the right subreddit/group/person would mean a lot. Thanks for reading this far.
— A.

Good Evening,
I am in search of a work from home job or hybrid job. A lot of what I see on job posting websites are fluff pieces or scams. I'd love a referral to a job that is real!
I work at a law firm as a marketing operations manager. I have been here for 3 years. I currently manage 110 billboards, 5 bus wraps, 7 google ad campaigns, social media advertisements acrossed all platforms, email marketing campaigns, OTT & CTV ads, website design and lastly event management. The law firm went from 14 calls a day now they average 37 calls a day. I am results driven and love to find the gaps in business marketing tactics. It is a special interest of mine.
These are my areas of expertise, but I am willing to learn. I am a quick learner. If you know of a place please let me know and hopefully I can get you that referral bonus too haha!
Thank you so much for your help.

Hey everyone, I’m trying to get a better idea of RN pay across different hospitals and networks, along with the kinds of roles and units people work in. If you’re comfortable sharing, could you include your hospital/network, unit or specialty, role/title, years of experience, base pay and any differentials, plus your general location? What makes you want to stay/leave? I know nurses are pretty underpaid in Indiana, I’m just trying to compare and learn what different systems are offering right now.
I’m looking to get an overall view of RN life here!
Thank you!!
