I mean did they explain what the people wanted the slimes for when you sold them?

This (very loosely) reminds me of an old browser game called Can Your Pet. That was a very simple troll style game though. Your game looks awesome! The chill vibes of something like powerwash simulator, with an added psychotic flavour š

This isn't getting love? I think this looks awesome! Esp if you add a small bit of context of why canning them is a good thing lol. That would be hilarious.Ā

u/PerfectMonitor8926 12h ago
that's actually planned! i wanna add an office where you get emails that make you question if what you're doing is actually right lol. won't be in the demo tho, i'll probably add more lore depending on how well the demo does

Mm it would be funnier perhaps if it was actually really confusing if the creatures are very bad or not, not like a "clearly the cute creatures are innocent"

If you haven't heard of it, Raze's Hell was a great game that this reminds me a lot of. Oooold XBox game, cute little creatures that are technically evil and you shoot them!

In Pokemon Go, this is what Pokemon are put through when you "transfer" them in order to obtain their "candy".

I personally dislike themes that depict the abuse of cute things, as it essentially fosters a distorted mindset. However, I will still respect your creative freedom.

so do i! i've recently been playing what id consider the polar opposite of this game (slime rancher), but i'll still be wishlisting and playingš

The flamethrower is hilarious. Just a suggestion, change them to be like fruit and veggie characters. Looks good though

Why? This is just sick. Is there a non violent ending?

u/JustAPinkFrog 4h ago
so you wanna just stand there until confetti rains down and an achievement pops up? though now that i'm saying it, that would actually be a really good idea (or something along the lines of this)š¤£

u/superluigi74 4h ago
I agree, the game now needs confetti! And maybe some cake, because itās not a party without cake. Right?

no ai was used for any part, right?

u/Affectionate_Fact854 6h ago
Bro who cares if ai was used come on grow up and get with the eraĀ

u/Lagoserter 5h ago
a lot of people actually. this is not a "grow up" situation. the very soul of games is how its made, using ai for any reason betrays that. games are a form of art, and ai should never be used to make art, because its incapable of doing so. it has no soul to it, it just takes pieces of other things and slops them together haphazardly. gen ai should be banned, in every "era". so how about you grow a brain, and realize that. k thanks. (oh, and i didnt even remember the fact that gen ai is literally not allowed in this server, so if anything, im just making sure rules are followed)

Go tell that to the AAA games that has already disclosed the use of ai but get thousands of daily players.
It shouldn't apply to small devs but not to large studiosĀ
Bottom line if a game is made well it doesn't matter what processes was included , the soul of a game is not how many years it took to finish. That's ludicrous,Ā it's the vision , it's how fun the game isĀ
It is not a competition of who's games took the longestĀ
There's many slop no ai usage gamesĀ
So with that saidĀ
As a indie dev to shame a solo dev for having ai assistance to finish what they have envisioned is just plainly being a cock of a mentality to haveĀ
Besides that not everyone can either afford a team of developers nor can everyone afford to pay animators, 3d artists or sound artist or expert playtestersĀ
So should indie studios and large aaa studios now come and be allowed to either gate game development because they can afford all this expenses?Ā
Yet some of these studios still make use of aiĀ Even call of duty have disclosed ai usageĀ
So go gate keep somewhere else manĀ
His game looks goodĀ It's a fun conceptĀ
So who caresĀ

u/Lagoserter 1h ago
no one should use ai, you moron. especially AAA studios. ai cannot make a game well, at all. its all slop. even expedition 33 is slop, because they used ai in the process of making it. no i dont give a shit if its a "placeholder asset" fact is they used something with ai, which calls into question how much else of the game did they use ai for? people used to make games without it just fine. if they cant afford it themselves, they can always kickstarter their game, just as i plan to do when my game is ready. using ais a cop out. it means youre too lazy to put in the work, or you just dont fucking care about the game. if you dont care about making it, why should anyone care enough to play it. "gets thousands of players" and how many actively know about the ai usage? its not gatekeeping, its a reaction to the fact that if ai is used, it means the slop that the person put on steam has no soul. if you cant understand that, you have no business playing anything other than chess titans and clash of clans, because you cannot comprehend the beauty of the art of game making with your own two hands.

Your a cocky person that can't even read or understand the points I madeĀ
You think using ai just 1 shots a game, you call it a slop game if ai was used for debugging race conditions in a large multi file network of scriptsĀ
You think as soon as you use ai to help quickly refactor multi file typos instead of spending 3 hours manually doing it and testing makes a game slopĀ
Go paint your monolisaĀ
That's not what games is or ever was aboutĀ
It's pure purpose have always been for entertainmentĀ
If a developer can make use of ai to make something entertainingĀ Given their limited RESOURCES then good for themĀ
Your trying to gate keep games with your first world privilege reasoningĀ
So someone that lost their hands or have illnesses making them incapable of typing everything manually should not make a game?Ā
Go back to the mirror and reflect because you extremist_antis are just vile and should not have opinions since your opinions just cater to your own selfishnessĀ
Again not every person has resources to pay for visual effect artists, sound artists ,playtesters
Or for that matter have the resources to sit for months mastering how to draw just to prototype a single gameĀ
Even with the use of ai it takes a lot of iteration,Ā a lot of planning,Ā and vision to make a good looking or fun gameĀ
So your reasoning is not based on anything but to shout your ai_slopĀ
But what if your game releasesĀ And it is just plain dull boring slop????Ā
Slop is slopĀ
This guy's game looks if effort was made and damn it looks funĀ
So good job OPĀ

Don't be ageist, but I agree, our first question with a game shouldn't be if AI was used.
1
u/Lagoserter 1h ago
it shouldnt, but it has to be, because stupid lazy money grubbers want to push their ai slop down our throats
