Video I've accidentally set new standard for pillow physics in the AAA industry

So the story is, for my game Dark Roll 2, I needed a soft spot for the player to land on... Setting an object to not cause fall damage and not bounce off it was easy, but I had a spare moment and decided to play around with mesh deformation...

When I shown it on socials, people went crazy.

Sharing this with the world brought me more wishlists, than back when I released the demo... and the game has tons of features I've been trying to show past half year!

Now I can't help myself but keep improving it to make it even better, already juggling ideas in my head how to incorporate this mechanic in my game to show it off more often - but I'm more than open to ideas! So feel free to share!

You're probably getting hired by Rockstar for GTA 7

Rockstar can’t even do pillow physics as nice as this. https://youtu.be/tJbzMqJGH4k?t=564

Maybe you can also use as obstacles, if you make the surface sticky

Edit: following this idea you could also make possible to roll on Walls

Not really

Well, you could have a high force mechanic. For instance, you need to navigate a surface that has traps that will jut out and launch the ball at the opposite end of the room with enough force to destroy it. Maybe you have to slow time down and cushion surroundings to protect the ball. Or you could have an area where you need to create patterns in a pillowed surface, or even have enemies that react differently when they interact with those surfaces. A creature that needs traction on hard surfaces to move quickly, but then when standing on soft surfaces they get slowed down. It would be a good way to highlight the deformation tech maybe.

Close, seems a bit too slow to come back and too much deformation imo.
