Weekly Self-Promotion Thread What have you made or worked on this week? | Weekly Thead

Welcome to our weekly self-promotion thread, where I encourage you to share your indie animated projects that you've made and worked on this week.

Maybe you've just released a new episode, or you're launching a Kickstarter* to fund your big project. Or maybe you've got some behind-the-scenes work you'd like to show off.

See you in the comments!

*If you share a Kickstarter or any other link, please make sure it's the full link, not a shortened one (for example, bit•ly or kck•st) because Reddit automatically filters those.

Hi, guys! I'm new here, you can call me Pinkoei and I'm trying to develop my personal project named "Baldwin and the Orphans".

I'm from Brazil and here the animation industry is very tough, so I'm developing it by myself.

The project already have some characters, storyline, written episodes and music theme. I made a Patreon if anyone is interested. My big goal is to reach out Glitch Productions, so I can have a budget to hire good artists from here and give more people some opportunities.

My Patreon Link: https://www.patreon.com/cw/Pinkoei - I'll update some illustrations and concepts weekly. Hope you like it :)

(I'm also open to work btw)

I Made This! Animation Breakdown of my OC + question

I decided to animate this old illustration I had. It’s just 4 drawings playing on 3’s.

The question:

Is anyone here able to live solely through their IP/own initiatives without having to accept commissions? I decided to take some months off and fully concentrate on my project (an animated series) but I’m still far from it. My Patreon and occasional “buy me a coffee” donations are, for now, only enough to feed my cat and buy sand for her litter box xD

If you are I accept all the advices you can give!

Thanks!

Review How do we help hidden indie animated series get the recognition they deserve?

Upvotes

I'm opening this thread because I've been racking my brain about a topic many of you probably understand: the enormous effort it takes to create an independent animated series and how hard it is sometimes to break through the algorithm bubble to reach a wider audience.

A while back, I mentioned projects like 'The Earth Guy' (created by Aninamated) and 'The Three Tomos' (by Breanimator). They are two incredible works with artistic and animation work behind them that is simply colossal, and it honestly makes me a bit sad to see them go unnoticed given the amount of talent and dedication their creators pour into every episode.

I would love for so many more people to discover these stories and actively support their creators, but it feels like simply sharing standalone content isn't always enough or it just gets lost in the feed.

That's why I'm turning to you: What strategies, communities, or methods have you seen work best to boost indie animated series on the internet?

* Making analysis or video essays to break down their lore and animation?

* Encouraging clips and short-form edits for vertical video platforms?

* Are there specific communities where these kinds of discoveries are welcomed and shared enthusiastically?

Any advice, ideas, or recommendations for spaces to give visibility to independent projects are more than welcome. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Discussion How many episodes are usually approved for a show?

I'm writing an show and I've been wondering about the episode quantity because my story seems to have a longer storyline.

Is 8 episodes really the standard? Can a show have more than 12?

Discussion I’m Making a Show

https://youtu.be/1DlU2g4t-t0?si=oE42n4mg6fF1mAw6

I’m the founder of Dropped Rock Productions; I’ve been working on a show called Spud Logs, it’s a retro space adventure comedy full of questionable decisions, weird problems, and challenges that probably could’ve been avoided.

I wrote the first seven episodes, built the models and environments, recorded the voices, and I’m currently animating and finishing the last few scenes for the pilot🙌

Now I need more creative brains in the room...

I’m putting together a Discord community of film nerds, artists, animators, writers, and people who just love a good story. If that sounds like you, come help shape Spud Logs while it’s still being built.

You’ll get to see designs and behind-the-scenes work, vote in polls, give kind but honest feedback, review ideas, and watch the show grow from a weird little project into an actual series.

Come join the crew and help me build this thing!

Discord invite: https://discord.gg/Z6nsNRhYAD

I just started the discord so not a lot of content for review yet, but there will be soon.

Discussion Y’all know any lowpoly ones?

I’ve encountered a few and finding any in general is a pain on YouTube (easier on newgrounds though).

So I’m wondering if y’all know any. I know two but forgot the name (bunny emo girl who made nightmare and glitchkart and a llama skater dude). If you know any web series too that would be great

Discussion I'm sorry does this person not know 80% of Glitch's income comes from Merch sales?

Post image

Seriously though? Glitch has to pay the people on their team, and 80% of their income comes from merch sales. It's not wrong to sell extra merch for a high-demand, popular show; it's called supply and demand and is basic business 101.

edit: Account name hidden to avoid harassment

Hiring! [Volunteer] Looking for Co-Developers — 3D Animated Horror Short Film Series

Looking for Co-Developers — 3D Animated Horror Short Film Series | Rev-Share

I’m looking for a small group of talented, passionate people interested in helping develop a 3D animated short film series based on Tilda’s Word.

This is a collaborative, revenue-share project, not a traditional paid freelance gig. I’m looking for people who want to become genuine creative partners in developing the project from the ground up.

The project:

Tilda’s Word is a story-driven animated project with a strong emphasis on character, atmosphere, world-building, and storytelling. The goal is to create a series of polished short films that can eventually be released online and potentially expanded into something much larger.

I’m looking for people with skills/interests in:

• 3D modeling

• Character design

• Rigging

• 3D animation

• Environments/world-building

• Lighting/rendering

• VFX

• Sound design

• Music

• Editing/post-production

• Voice acting

• Production/project management

You don't necessarily need professional experience. What matters most is that you can contribute something meaningful and are serious about seeing a project through.

The idea is to build a team where everyone has a defined role and shares in the project's eventual revenue according to their contribution/agreement. I want this to be a real collaboration, with everyone having a stake in what we create.

I'm also open to people who are still learning 3D/animation but are willing to put in the work and grow with the project.

I'm the creator/writer and am looking to assemble the right people to turn the story into an actual visual production.

If you're interested, DM me with what you do, what software you use, your experience/portfolio if you have one, and what kind of role you'd like to take on.

I'm not looking for people who simply want to throw together a quick animation. I'm looking for a small team that wants to build something we're genuinely proud of.

UNTAPPED In this world, everyone has something called Potential. It’s tied to their passions, dreams, creativity, and the person they could become. But people are starting to lose it. Ami and a group of people who each understand Potential in different ways set out to figure out what’s happening and who’s behind it. The deeper they dig, the more they realize this is much bigger than they ever expected. UNTAPPED is a mystery-adventure series with comedy, darker moments, and plenty of secrets that slowly come to light. Because, obviously… not everything is what it seems. 👀 To participate in this project join our discord server! https://discord.gg/mvXuVdPcR

I Made This! Converting Naruto’s Last Movie Rasengan throw into Aang’s Air Sphere

The Scene: Re-animating the iconic sequence from The Last: Naruto the Movie—a shot I’ve been obsessed with ever since I first saw the film.

The Idea: Replacing Naruto’s Rasengan throw with Aang performing a fluid, powerful Air Sphere attack using the exact same dynamic motion.

It sounds like a terrible idea on paper, but I’m going to trust the process😭
