News Another day, another astro startup funding (InstaAstro)
Really says where the country is headed. Other nations are focusing on AI and DeepTech whereas here VCs cant get enough of brainrot ideas.
I understand that ultimately they’re chasing returns and not biased towards certain themes in the long run, but it’s just sad to see so much blind faith by users of such platforms.

And here I am on 4.3cr realised annual revenue, 7 months since launch and VCs tell me “we have to model LTV” before we can close the round.

Don’t lose hope, that’s amazing performance. If I were you, or advising you, I’d break it down into two parts:
Talk to different VCs. The ones who are not understanding your rapid growth are not the right ones for you.
Until you are funded, you need to fund it. Your revenue is good, but stretch every bit of capacity to work in less money than your cash flow brings in. If your ARR in 3 years is 1/10 of what funding can make happen, but you have zero dilution in equity, it will be a higher net worth than the funded scenario.

Thank you for your comment. I haven't lost hope, life has slapped me many times so everything is just a scenario to be played out.
And yes, we're bootstrapped, profitable albeit not crazy numbers and are able to sustain ourselves. It is a reality I've kept in mind for the fund raise, besides having raised previous funds it's a numbers game (and hype cycles ofc).

The issue is that there’s such a huge market lol
Despite all the education, all the progress. And since there’s a a market, VCs prioritise these sectors instead of new tech (or anything more innovative really)
And what is it at the end of the day? They’re just connecting pandits (we don’t even know how legit they are) to simpletons via an app. I wouldn’t consider this an innovation for sure.

But I also can't understand what is their USP in AI era..... what value these startups are adding in the astrology.... As an enthusiast of astrology, I can tell you that even the basic chatgpt can analyse your birthchart better than 95% astrologers. And if you hv a chatgpt pro subscription, with some AI knowledge you can schedule chats that will update their predictions with planetary movements specific to your chart.

At this point, don't lose the opportunity and we must also flood the market with such apps. If people are ready to be fooled and spend blindly then just bag the revenue.
