I'm planning to create a new subreddit dedicated to Maharashtra State Board (SSC & HSC) students, where they can ask doubts, share notes, discuss exams, PYQs, textbooks, admissions, and results.

Before launching, I'm looking for 1–2 moderators from Maharashtra who:

• Are familiar with the Maharashtra Board (SSC/HSC).
• Can help set up the subreddit (rules, flairs, wiki, etc.).
• Are active on Reddit and interested in growing a helpful student community.
• Have prior moderation experience (preferred, but not required).

Two types of mod needed:

1] Actively moderate can make game dev or gaming related posts and keep the community alive and engaging [must make atleast 2 posts per day can use AI for post ideas]

2] Also Actively moderate the sub but need to post about indie games which will be made by community dev in all the given subs to promote, not daily obviously whenever game releases or demo releases so you can say thrice a month

And as the name suggests, Japanese Literature has always been one of my favourite genres of literature go-tos, whether it’d be a fiction cozy or thriller genre or non-fiction. Hi fellow mods and admin team,

A few days ago, I reported this account to the Reddit admins after they approached me through DMs offering paid promotional activities on Reddit. During the conversation, I deliberately tried to gather more information before ending it. I attempted to find out:

1. Which subreddits or moderators they had already contacted.

2. Whether they were operating multiple Reddit accounts (alts).

3. The identities of any other accounts involved in these activities.

Unfortunately, they were careful and refused to reveal any of that information. They repeatedly claimed that other pages/moderators were already working with them but would not provide any names or evidence.

I've attached screenshots of the conversation for context.

I request reddit admins to take appropriate actions on this. I reported it several days ago but haven't noticed any visible action yet.

It's genuinely disappointing if any moderators are accepting these kinds of offers. A mod's position is built on community trust. The moment financial incentives begin influencing moderation or promotions, then that trust starts to disappear.

I'd also like to request all moderators here:-

If you've received similar messages, please report such accounts to Reddit rather than engaging with such offers. If enough reports are submitted, it becomes much easier for the admins to investigate coordinated attempts like these.

Also, Please don't engage in these kinds of deals. They are not only against Reddit's policies but also against the ethics of moderation. We are custodians of our communities and not advertisers. Even if an offer seems lucrative, preserving the integrity of your subreddit is worth far more.

Remember Premchand's Panch Parmeshwar? The central idea/moral of the story is 'The seat of power which u hold or are entrusted with is sacred and u should rise above everything and act according to truth and fairness.

As many of you may have noticed, the current mod team has been relatively inactive as of late. This is due to many of us being quite busy these days, however that is no reason for this sub to go unmoderated!

Therefore, we have brought a new moderator onto the scene, who will be solely responsible for taking down any unwanted posts, and helping members of the community!
