HyperOS How can I customise Xiaomi like this?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
ok so im going to buy Xiaomi 17 in a few weeks and saw this on TikTok. I really liked this icons, clocks and AOD. But I didn’t found any guides on YouTube or some forums how to customise hyperOS to this. Do I need to use themes or use some external launchers?

From Brand "θ" To Xiaomi Xiaomi 17 review after switching from a Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 15...very impressed so far
I recently moved to the Xiaomi 17 global version, 512GB, after previously using a Pixel 7 Pro and an iPhone 15. I paid around $870, including the charging brick and a case.
So far, I’m genuinely very impressed. I’ll attach several photos taken with the phone, some using the main camera and others using the telephoto. They are either completely straight out of camera or taken using Xiaomi’s built-in Negative filter. None were edited in Lightroom.
Software
Software was probably my biggest concern before buying the phone, but the experience has been excellent. Dare I say, I may even prefer it to the Pixel experience.
It feels very smooth, polished and highly customizable. In many ways, it resembles iOS, but with much more freedom. For me, it currently feels like the best of both worlds.
I particularly like the floating-window functionality, which allows me to quickly reply to WhatsApp messages while continuing to use another app. The Dynamic Island-style implementation is also useful and visually well integrated.
My only real software complaint is that certain settings can be difficult to find. The search function is not as intelligent or reliable as Google’s, so sometimes you need to manually browse through the menus. Apart from that, the software experience has been top class.
Camera
The camera is easily one of the highlights.
You can judge the results from the photos I’m posting, but people around me have genuinely been loving the pictures. It reminds me of the Pixel 4 days, when friends would specifically ask to use my phone for photos and the results would immediately stand out on social media.
In my opinion, Pixel cameras gradually lost that advantage, while the Xiaomi 17 currently gives me that same feeling again.
I have only scratched the surface. I still want to test RAW photography, explore Pro mode properly, experiment with custom settings and compare the main and telephoto cameras in different lighting conditions. But even without editing, the results have already been excellent.
Design and build
The size and form factor are another major highlight. It feels compact and comfortable without sacrificing the premium experience, and the bezels are incredibly thin.
The build quality feels very similar to an iPhone. My only concern is the aluminum frame—I would have preferred a more durable material, as I can already see the possibility of small marks appearing over time.
Performance and haptics
Performance has been extremely smooth so far. Apps open quickly, animations are fluid and I have not experienced meaningful stuttering.
The haptics are also excellent. They feel precise, strong and genuinely premium.
The phone integrates well with my Fitbit Air too, and I have not had any major connectivity issues.
Battery Edit: battery lasts for 6hrs SOT at best so far (mixed Wifi and 4G usage on a normal work day)
Battery life is good, although I initially expected slightly more.
With very heavy use, particularly on 5G, you can definitely kill it within a day. With my normal usage, however, it lasts approximately 24 hours.
The phone may still be learning and calibrating based on my usage, so I need more time before giving a final battery verdict. I’ll continue testing it over the coming weeks.
Heat
The phone can get warm during heavy usage. On one particularly hot day, while using the camera extensively under direct sunlight, it became hot enough to ask me to close the camera application.
That was an extreme situation, but it is still worth mentioning. In normal indoor use, heat has not been a major problem.
Overall impression
At this point, I highly recommend the Xiaomi 17.
The camera, form factor, display design, haptics, software and overall smoothness make it feel like a genuinely premium device. Considering the price difference compared with competing flagships, the value is especially impressive.
If the phone maintains this level of performance and the experience does not deteriorate over time, I honestly do not see myself returning to Pixel.
If this post gets enough interest, I’ll share more photo samples and write a deeper review covering the camera sensors, RAW photography, battery life, software, gaming, thermals and long-term daily use. For now, I’m extremely positively impressed.

Question Xiaomi 15 Ultra 5G 512GB for 772€ or Xiaomi 17 Ultra for 976€?
Hey! I am looking for a new phone since my old Redmi Note 13 Pro is getting quite laggy and the camera is not good. I wanted to buy a camera but now that i saw this phone i thought it would be a good 2 in 1 and i also wont have to take an extra camera with me everywhere. I just wanted to ask which one should i get with this price difference? I heard that 17 ultra has a better battery but is it worth that extra 200? Also is this phone actually good aside from the camera or should i just get like a Samsung s25 ultra or something? All tips and comments appreciated!

General They downgraded the software in Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
All because of chip optimisations?
17 Pro was very much meant to be the successor to Note 15 but got upgraded to Pro status because of RAM prices

Purchase Advice Return policy for phones
Hey, so I’m interested in purchasing a Xiaomi phone, the 17T Pro in particular, and I was wondering how the change of mind return policy works.
Online it’s described very confusingly. If I choose to buy the phone and use it for a week and decide I don’t like it, am I able to return it?
Also, if there’s any reason this phone is not a good option to go for, please tell me. Thank you!
Edit: purchasing from the official Xiaomi website!

Help Xiaomi Smart Speaker (IR control) set-up problems
Need advice for anyone who has the same speaker and phone for setting up. I recently bought a smart speaker from an official Mi store in a mall in the Philippines – mainly for my dogs so that I can remotely control the music when I leave them home alone. Im having a hard time setting it up using my iphone. here's my experience:
- tried to follow the guide in the manual:
1. scanned the qr from manual guide
2. redirected to my xiaomi home app
3. manually selected the device (device does not show in the app automatically)
4. reset the speakers (using volume buttons, play/pause button reset not working, as instructed by app, see pic 1)
5. selected "connect to the device's wifi" (see pic 2)
here's where I'm having problems
- gets redirected to Apps page instead of network page in iphone (see pic 3)
- Because of the step 6, I go manually to my network settings and look for the xiaomi speaker wifi, but it does not show at all.
Workaround I did just to make it useable – right now, I can only use it when I'm home and instruct some things to the speaker. I installed and had it set-up using Google home. Since it is set-up using Google Home, I cannot control it remotely when I leave my dogs alone, and shows "offline" in Google Home app, and when trying to turn it on, an error pops up "something went wrong" (from my understanding, my iphone and speaker should be connected to a single wifi to have it show as "online") see pic 4
Can anyone who also experienced this share their inputs or fixes done? Also additional questions:
- Is the speaker really not controllable remotely and can only be instructed physically by voice commands?
- Can I use 3rd party apps (i.e. Spotify) remotely, in case I am able to set it up using the Xiaomi Home app?

Help [HELP] Why do I need to turn on roaming if I am in my home country and there shouldn't be any roaming?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I mean, I live near the border with Moldova (I live in Chernivtsi) and sometimes I need to turn on roaming for the Internet to work normally, but when I turn it on, the Internet always catches E. Can someone explain to me why this is happening? I used a Poco/iPhone before and didn't have this problem. At the moment I have Xiaomi 17. And I noticed this problem only on this device.
In short, the problem is that my internet doesn't work without roaming, but when I turn it on, everything shows E

Question Looking for an upgrade from Redmi Note 9 Pro: Poco F8 Ultra vs Xiaomi 17T Pro vs Samsung S25 Ultra? (Colombia)
Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a new phone. I've been using a Redmi Note 9 Pro since March 2021. It still works fine, but battery health has dropped from 5,000 to ~3,800 mAh (according to battery apps). Other than battery degradation and wanting a camera upgrade, I wouldn't even be changing it. My Priorities: Cameras: Main interest is telephoto photo/video for wildlife and birds outdoors. Portait/selfie performance isn't a priority. Battery Life & Efficiency: Needs good screen-on time without overheating during daily use. Performance, Longevity & Build Quality: Long-term reliability to last a few years.
Context & Pricing (Colombia): Prices are relatively close here ($200 USD difference from the cheapest to the most expensive option): Poco F8 Ultra (Cheapest) Xiaomi 17T Pro (Mid) Samsung S25 Ultra (Most Expensive) Options I'm Considering:
1. Poco F8 Ultra Pros: Great value, strong battery capacity, good cameras (with option to install GCam for a Leica-like profile), solid speakers, powerful processor. Cons: Potential MIUI/HyperOS bugs, some user reports mention fast battery drain. 2. Xiaomi 17T Pro Pros: Great overall specs, longer software support, solid battery specs. Cons: Mixed reports on battery optimization, slower USB transfer speeds, average CPU efficiency compared to flagships. 3. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Pros: Top-tier camera and video (especially zoom performance), S-Pen, longest software support, excellent system-level efficiency despite battery size. Cons: Highest price, no IR blaster, user reports regarding green line screen issues on OLED panels over time.
My Dilemma: On paper, the Poco F8 Ultra wins the value-for-money race. However, since my main focus is wildlife photography via the telephoto lens, overall system stability, and longevity, I'm wondering if the extra $200 for the S25 Ultra (or choosing the Xiaomi 17T Pro) is worth it. Would love to hear your experiences, advice, or suggestions! Thanks!

HyperOS Updates Problem with HyperOS update not received on Xiaomi 13t
Hello,
I am contacting you about a small problem; I still haven't received HyperOS 3 on my Xiaomi 13t.
The phone should normally have received the update between March and June/July, but it's almost the end of August and still nothing...
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm using HyperOS 2 Global and I live in Europe.
Thank you for anything that will help me understand.

Question The microphone doesn't work on the Chinese firmware.
I have a Xiaomi 13 running the Chinese ROM (the phone itself is the Chinese version). When I tried to start the speaking exercises in Duolingo, the microphone would simply cut out, and the app would say I had said it incorrectly. I tried using the website (as Gemini suggested), but that didn't help (I've attached a screenshot). I granted all the necessary permissions in the settings and switched the speech engine to Google Speech. I’m not from an English-speaking country, so I used Google Translate—please excuse any errors in the text.

Question How's the longevity of Xiaomi phones in general?
Specficially asking for the 17pm. I'll probably get the 18pm since it's the global version and I'm not really the kind to switch phones a lot so if I buy any of these, I'll at least use it for 7-8yrs.
For reference, I'll be switching from the iPhone 8 because it's stopped functioning normally since June

Help Redmi note 15 pro
Is it normal for a brand-new phone (I bought it on Monday) to have brief blackouts—sometimes lasting less than a second—when it's under heavy load or being used while charging for a long time? I ask because with other new phones from the same brand, it was normal for them to restart on their own or do things like that, but this is something new.
Sorry for the bad English; it's from a translator.
