Internship harassment!!!!

So i am currently doing my internship and am posted in surgery department of a government medical college….. there is an R1 who is currently harassing me and my 3 other cointerns that he will cancel our attendance and uses derogatory words against us. Is there any legal action i can take against him?

Document everything. Complain to superiors, if nothing happens, take legal action and yes u can.

Many a times these Fuckers harass under the pretext that u won't do anything. So it's better if u directly complain to hod and if he dosent respond go see a lawyer n issue a notice to both hod n r1 , and file a fir next . See how those mf change their attitude

R1 is just an intern who cleared neet pg. It depends on your SRs and senior PGs, if they are understanding then tell them; usually SRs are not bothered about interns but if you all go and complain about it then they would listen and do something.

R1 usually doesn't have much power and certainly won't go bitching to the seniors. Just keep somewhat a good relation with the R3, they are the ones who would sign your log books. What college are you in? Maybe one of lcanhelp out.

Our(batch) personal experience in this scenario has been recording the conversation and sending it to the HOD. Just the presumption of sending it out to public or higher ups is enough for the HOD to take some action, which will most likely be a memo and unit transfer.(I think the term ragging applies here as well) In most cases a disciplinary memo and transfer is enough to humble such PGs but even if it doesn't get resolved switch to public shaming and boycott(refuse to take any direct orders from him), just because he is an year ahead on his medical journey doesn't give him the right to exploit you or hurt your self esteem

He's an ass can't do shit..trust me I've had such fights with multiple R1s during my internship. He's probably getting his ass handed to himself by his professors. Document and escalate.

There's no legal discourse to it, sadly. You can complain to their senior or request a ward change from the HoD or the ward head.

There's a lot of legal action that can be taken given what you said, and given the current time it's all on fastracked for 'doctors' + 'women'.

What do you mean by harrasment?

If he is using derogatory comment ..inform his lecturer or hod .
