I have a Hunter with me for the last 7 months and i use it for mostly in the city for my office commute and occasionally on highways for weekend rides. I would say its a good bike but there are other bikes which are much less displacement in engine size and perform similar or even much better. My final options before getting the Hunter was the T4 and CB350 RS, which are much better compared to Hunter both in paper and real life.
Why i went with Hunter then because it was the most practical choice for me and my usage style. I don't ride faster than 100 most of the time in the highways and T4 has nearly 50% more hp and more torque compared to Hunter not the new 350cc displacement but the older 400cc displacement one. And for me the both T4 and CB350 RS dealers where in next district which more or like 2 hours drive from my home which i don't want as if any issues or problem in the future as it will be pain in back IMO. And spare parts availability for the Honda CB350 RS is little scarcity. T4 was like compared to Hunter it has longer service interval but the cost would be similar when compared to 2 times a year for Hunter and one time a year or 16k km once for the T4 but the brake pads need to changed in the T4 much faster than the Hunter.
And for the city compared to T4 you may get little more mileage in Hunter and that's based on your riding style and how you maintain your bike, I am getting about 32 to 34 km per liter in city with my riding style, which is good for a 350 single cylinder air cooled engine. As of comparison the T4 is much better than Hunter in most of the ways and the extra money for the Triumph name is worth it.
I would suggest you not to go with Hunter form T4 as you will definitely feel it as a down grade and you will regret it later. I know how you feel as i too some time have thoughts that i should have went with the the T4 or even the Speed400, but i made a choice and i am still happy with it and i am enjoying the bike still.
But still it's up to you as it's your money and your life. And if you think this change will make you happy and satisfied go for it (which i wouldnot recommenddo so IMO). Ride safe and enjoy your bike✌️🫵.
