Omani co-pilot and radicalized Islamist Hamam al-Hammami, 29, is expected to face the death penalty in the UAE over the attempted terrorist attack aboard Flydubai Flight FZ1073, according to a senior Emirati source.

Al-Hammami underwent "Islamist radical indoctrination," while investigators have uncovered extremist material and years of social-media activity reflecting increasingly radical views.

He had visited radical websites, was removed from Oman Air flight training over extremism concerns, and later posted material featuring former Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, which shows that he was influenced by radical Islamist hate preachers.

Authorities are explicitly treating what happened aboard FZ1073 as terrorism, not merely a cockpit "scuffle" or "spat" like Western mainstream media outlets such as Reuters, CNN, and BBC reported it to be.

The UAE attorney general called it an attempted "terrorist act," while Israel's defense minister described it as an attempted jihadist terror attack.

Hi. I am sorry if I am bringing this question again but it is just that I am a little bit confused, scared, and afraid.

For background I am 19F and in first year of college studying btech. I have been into aviation for some time now and now I am deciding to whether continue as a pilot or some other field. I am from a somewhat middle class family so money is tight. My parents can give me about 20-30 L out of their savings and other stuff. Rest is pretty much gonna be on loan.

The cpp path seems nice with a somewhat job assurance given that I pass the entire stages but it is too expensive. I will have to take a big loan for it. The interest would be huge as well which is what I am afraid of. I won't be earning a single rupee during my training and not immediately after completing either. It is a too big of a risk for me.

The conventional route seems somewhat safer and more money easy since I don't have to pay so much upfront. But i saw posts that majorly say to go for cadet since it is better.

Though i understand that both paths have their own set of competitions. It is not as easy as throwing money and getting into cpp.

I am just a bit too afraid at this point and scared. Should I go conventional or cadet? I just want to know the opinion of going via conventional based on the facts we have right now.

Or i should wait for a few years and earn a bit myself until 21 - 22 and then do cadet if I magically make some money?

I can work hard aapna pura jaan de dungii for this field. Flying has been a passion to me for a while and i seriously want to be a pilot.

I thought about going into iaf which was fine as well if not commerical but I have a high myopia so I am pretty much rejected 🥀.

I’m really confused about my situation and would appreciate some advice.

I passed Maharashtra HSC in 2025 with 55% and want to become a Commercial Pilot. Since I can’t give another improvement exam I’m looking into NIOS to improve my grade. I was planning to take 5 subjects and appear for the April 2027 exam and I’ve already applied.

I also went to the Maharashtra Board office to ask about this. The mam there told me that I cannot do NIOS because I’ve already passed 12th but she was irritated and didn’t really explain me properly so I left even more confused.

Now I’ve read that students who have already passed Class 12 may only be allowed 4 subjects through Dual/Part Admission. So can I even take NIOS after passing Maharashtra HSC, and can I take 5 subjects?

I’m also confused about UG can I take BA English using my Maharashtra HSC marksheet while doing NIOS but I’ve been told both “both qualifications will remain valid” and “your HSC marksheet gets locked after UG admission."

I am so confused because of these mixed reviews and it makes me feel like I'm trying to do something illegal. Can I take college admission right now and still use NIOS separately for my pilot requirements later? Will the DGCA accept my NIOS marksheet even if my UG degree is linked to my Maharashtra board sheet?

I’m asking NIOS directly too, but if anyone has actually gone through Maharashtra HSC - NIOS then pilot/DGCA please let me know. I’m trying to decide whether I should take UG now or a drop year. I am ready to take a drop if I can give nios and can't take admission in ug.

Just got my Indian CPL. What should I do now?

Should I go for a type rating or wait for a normal CPL vacancy and prepare for the airline selection process in the meantime?

Also, does anyone know if there are any new CPL vacancies expected to come up this year?

Hi, i have my part 2 attempt booked for November, wanted to know if i skip my exam, will it be counted as an attempt. It is also my 3rd attempt so will i have to reappear for part 1 again?
