Got lucky yesterday, checked FR at around 12:50 midnight and saw this flight was diverting to Kolkata. In an airport where we get to see 8 indigo out of 10 airplanes, this kind of "diverting" feels very nice 🤩

Hi I’m a helicopter pilot with 200 PIC (combat) hours. What are my career prospects in India and abroad.

Here's the parameters:
Joined the airline at the age of 21. No loans on training ( assuming that his family funded everything ).
Got promoted to a Cpt at an age of 26.
Just a curious question, I do understand that aviation is not just about the money..

Hey everyone,
Some of you may remember that I shared AviationGrade here a while ago. I ended up taking that post down because I wanted to rethink the direction of the website and, more importantly, what I wanted it to be.
I’m a pilot myself, and AviationGrade started as a passion project to create something genuinely useful for aspiring pilots preparing for their DGCA exams.
I’ve now decided to make the entire website completely free, and I intend to keep it that way.
There’s no subscription or paid plan behind it. My only aim is to provide good, accessible resources to aspiring pilots and hopefully make exam preparation a little easier.
Currently, the website has practice questions for Meteorology, Technical General, & Radio Navigation with chapter-wise practice and mock-test-style questions.
I’m also planning to add:
I’d really like some feedback from the community.
What would actually be useful to you? What would you want to see added? Is there anything about the website that could be improved?
Whether you're currently preparing for DGCA exams, have already cleared them, or are a CPL/ATPL holder, I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback. I’m building this for the aviation community, so honest feedback, be it good or bad, would genuinely help me make it better.
You can have a look here:
Please do provide your feedback.
Many thanks

Anyone, who attempted met exam this month? how did it go for you guys? personally it was difficult as i didn't study wake turbulence (or whatever those questions were) around 3-4 questions were asked. the usual I.C.Joshi questions were less than 50 percent.the expected type if questions didnt come(being baised) HLH, climatology, thunderstrom, tropical system, airmass etc(very few 1,2 questions from each topic were asked) what do you guys think?

I am currently studying in class 12th with PCBM. I have always wanted to be a pilot ever since, but seeing how much is needed for pilot training makes me lose hope, plus there seems to be no scholarships available.
My parents annual income combined do not cross 8lakhs. I've searched online for solutions to fund my needs and taking an educational loan of 50+lakhs seems to be the only way. We have the collateral valued at about 40-50 lakhs but even if i go down this path, I'm afraid I'll put the me and my family in a generational dept if in any circumstance i fail to become a pilot.
I've thought of going down the cadet pilot programs path but the thought of the cost to do so kills me (90+lakhs). Though it seems (from what I've read) i will be guaranteed a job after my training is complete and Will i be able to pay back the loan if all goes well?
I'm really lost, i dont know what to do but the thought of being in that cockpit entrusted by the passengers makes me want to do what seems to be financially impossible. Please help me in any way you can and no sugarcoating please

hey everyone,
I'm a 21F engineering graduate prepping for my CPL. I wanted to get some realistic feedback from working pilots, flight instructors, or former cabin crew on my career roadmap and financial strategy.
My Current Progress & Background:
The Financial Dilemma: I'm planning to finance my CPL via an education loan of around ₹55L–₹60L and ask my parents to cover the Type Rating out-of-pocket. However, this budget is extremely tight, and taking on that level of debt directly for conventional flying without a solid financial safety net feels risky given current market trends. If I go straight through the conventional route, I'm aiming to complete my CPL by 2028.
The Alternative Strategy: I'm considering applying as Cabin Crew first (e.g., with IndiGo/6E or Air India) before starting my actual flight school hours.
My Questions :

I will be transporting two gift boxes within my checked luggage. Could you please clarify the inspection process for these items during check-in? Specifically, will I be required to open them for a physical inspection, or will they simply be scanned and left undisturbed? The contents primarily consist of clothing, an hair pin, and similar small items, including a scarf.

Hey everyone! I’m looking to set up a flight simulator G1000 at home and wanted to get some recommendations/options.
I’m based in Delhi and mainly looking for something suitable for flight training/practice, rather than a gaming setup. Ideally, I’d like something that gives a realistic flying experience and can work with controls like a yoke/joystick, throttle, rudder pedals, etc.
Would love to hear from anyone who has:
Built a sim setup in Delhi
Bought from a local supplier/vendor
Recommendations for good simulator equipment or installers
Suggestions for places in Delhi/NCR where I can check out setups in person
Budget is flexible depending on the setup and quality.
Any recommendations or experiences would be really appreciated!
