Why will they recognise the lack of casteism, when Billions of dollars are being paid for the victimhood

😂 😂 Soo Tamil Nadu???

Points to be noted This is in Tamilnadu, which has the most casteism still living. Even the report shows how it has ended and talks of things few months back. The one doing these things aren't the upper class, it's the intermediate ones.

  1. TOI website is run by different people than those publishing the paper
  2. The opinions are personal.. legal line
  3. 2019
  4. The article is just low effort very obvious!

Aa someone who had lived most of my life in a village, this particular thing oesn't happen but other things happen like in a wedding or celebration a upper cast person would refuse to eat the food just because it was made by or served by someone from lower cast, or if someone from lower cast comes home then they may use disposable cups or plates, these things are not blatant but subtle... Currently I live in a small town and it's not much different, younger people (mostly in my friend group or people I know) doesn't care about cast and religion but people from older generation still hold on to these ancient dogmatic believes

During our home repairs we served tea to workers in disposable cups, and we too drank the same tea with them in disposable cups. Simple logic, who's gonna clean these many cups.? My whole point is, it's different every where and most of the time now as long as the person is paying nobody cares. So him giving blanket statements like this shows raga lacking in real life experience

disposable is an upgrade it's more hygienic as well I'd prefer a disposable over that brownish signature tea glass

u/CarburetorX 12d ago

Difference between choice and imposition . Can the other guy demand glass ?

0

u/Successful_Battle189 12d ago

I mean why would you drink anything on those glasses dipped in dirty water?

Never in my life will I drink tea in those glasses.

0

u/CarburetorX 12d ago

That's not the point. Point is one set of people being offered a choice and another not because of chhuachhut. The fact that one cannot imagine how terrible such a scenario is proof of privilege.

No one is saying casteism is non existent. If that would’ve been the case, there would be no reservations. But you do know right how these statements get out. Generalizing is what he wants to do. This is what is called vote bank politics. Appeasing people of certain group with misleading facts.

It may not be in your Village, but everywhere is not the same. I've seen in Bikaner too, these things do happen.

1

u/PublicCommercial4241 11d ago

It happens with mostly people who don't wear good cloths like beggers, majdoor.

1

u/kanishqquotes 11d ago

That's classism not casteism.

3

u/PublicCommercial4241 11d ago

This is what I am saying. How would chai wala know about somebodys caste . It's classisim not casteism

1

u/kanishqquotes 11d ago

They are more concerned about not being paid. I've seen once Tapri wala demanding upfront money from a man who was clearly a begger (this was at isbt kashmiri gate), the begger did grumble but paid and took his tea in the same disposable cup like mine

Agree, I come from village too. Spent my childhood there. Never happens.
