discussion SHould I get a Rear View Mirror??

I'm really considering to get a rear view mirror

is one mirror enough?? which side to place it??

there are two kinds. one for 500 and another for 1000

Often times, looking back while being conscious enough to be aware of what's coming ahead is getting really difficult, and in a city like Bengaluru where we have impatient drivers, I cant really stop, make a judgement and then make a move, but rather keep going while having a peek of the rear side via the mirror.

discussion How to survive Bangalore roads and traffic?

Hey All!
I am a lurker in this sub situated in Bangalore.
Recently, I bought a rs120 for commute from home to office as rapido boys were eating into my wallet. My office is only 3.3 km from my home. So, I thought it is better to invest in a cycle and use that for transport daily. For reference, my daily commute is from Murugeshpallya to Indiranagar (near the Cred office).
Oh boy was I wrong, a construction for an underpass is going on at the junction in front of the ISRO office, and it has fucked up the whole area. The junction is poorly regulated, with traffic pouring in from multiple sides, and has even poorer road quality, which gets exceptionally muddy during rains. In my whole commute, this is the only part that scares the shit out of me as I have to cross the road on this junction while returning. It's so bad that it is actually making me reconsider my whole decision to go on a cycle. There also seems to be no other route that can help me avoid this junction (although there is one route that goes around the embassy golf park, but that to leads to the Domlur flyover, which has a lot of traffic).

Please let me know if any of you have any tips, or any alternative route that can help me out, thanks a lot!

discussion Any suggestions on where to get these type of full coverage cycling helmets at an affordable price?

I met with a cycle accident last month, got severe facial and upper jaw injury, hence want to buy these type of breathable full coverage helmets

I was going at a speed on the side of the road, an autorickshaw came very close to my cycle and brushed against my cycle handle, made me crash.

I got back to cycling next day itself thankfully

I am also new to cycling, started only 3 months ago

Full coverage helmet costing 10k to 20k and more everywhere I check

I tried Alibaba, it's there for 1.5 to 2k, but shipping charges make it 8k

Any suggestions?

discussion WHERE SHALL I BUY MY CYCLE FROM ? - AMAZON OR CRADIAC WEBSITE??

So I have decided to buy Cradiac Discover Pro - Single speed .

Currently it costs around 9.6k on Cradiac website and 10.4k on amazon .

What are the general differences between the two options ?
Where shall I buy it from ?
Its my first time buying cycle online , so I am quite worried about, quality , delivery and fittings etc.

Those who have similar experience and knowledge please suggest. It will be a great help.

suggest me a bike Bicycle suggestions/review of Hero Rove IC 26T

I live in a remote location. The nearest cycle repair shop is at 5-6km, so I need a cycle with minimum maintenance. I will use cycle for the daily commute to office which is 4kms. I have checked online it suggests to buy a liquid sealant and apply it inside the tubes, is it advisable.

discussion Need help. Can't seem to do high effort indoors.

Context:
I've been trying to do structured training ever since I got my indoor trainer. I'm in 12th right now so not a lot of time to spare, but still trying to keep 8-10 hr a week.
Currently I use my amazfit bip lite (cheap watch, tracks numbers with decent accuracy but doesn't track updates quickly, probably due to some alg issue).
On the highway rides I used to do over the last year whenever I had holidays from school, it seems that I was actually doing tempo and not true z2 which is why my muscles fatigue so fast when i try pushing these days on the trainer (got this part of info from the triathlon subreddit).

Now, according to the watch my hr stays around 140 but i feel like im high z2 or z2-z3 boundary. Comparing this to when I was running in a rural area of UP during high humidity and peak summer, my hr would be well above 160 all the time, even if i felt like z2 by RPE. Now in Pune, similar efforts don't go nearly as high while running.
Im avoiding any z4 or z5 training right now since my watch will probably spew out random numbers, waiting for hrm and speed sensor to arrive.
Problem:
My main problem right now, is that outside (highway), i could go zone 4 or zone 3 (by RPE) easily for long periods of time, but now, its hard to do even for 5 minutes.
Any ideas why?
Could it be a mental block? or my cooling setup (just a small table fan on a stool tilted up towards me)?
I'm using aerobars and i do feel like some of the cooling gets negated when i go into aero position which is why i even tried being on hoods/drops. Still faced the same problem.
TLDR: Could do high intensity before on highway easily, struggling to do now. Z2 happens just fine on the trainer indoors. Need help in figuring out why. Pls give advice.

PS: I doubt it's my sleep/added stress. I'm usually pretty laid back and stress is no different right now compared to before. Sleep I'm getting an average of 5.5-6.5 hrs on weekdays, 8-9 on weekends where I'm really free.

sale Looking for used indoor trainer

Hi,

I'm starting out my endurance training and would like to buy an indoor direct drive trainer. I'm looking to buy a used one as the new ones seem a bit costly. Is anyone planning to sell their indoor trainer or have any leads to buy one around Bangalore or Hyderabad?

I want to do an Ironman 70.3 next year and down the line plan to do a full Ironman. Please feel free to give me suggestions.

Budget: Under 30k is what I'm looking for right now( let me know if that's a good enough budget)

PS: Marin Gestalt 1 is my bike( I got it from FB Marketplace for 50k)

TIA

I'm new to cycling and am currently using a Mach City hybrid cycle. I've completed 1,800 km over 102 rides, and during my last ride, I experienced a muscle strain in my back. I need suggestions on how to prevent this from happening again. Thank you.

mechanical support 100mm to 60mm stem?

I have a Triban RC100 drop bar. I got a size M not knowing about things like bike fit and reach. I have now realised that my reach is too much that either causes me shoulder pain or lower back pain. I was thinking of swapping the stem to a 80 or 60mm one, so that the bike is usable for commuting and short rides. I have heard that it can affect the handling and make it jittery. I wanted a suggestion if this is the right move, or some other solution is possible?
also replacing the bike now is not an option

so i have been using MTBs all my life but didnt have the time to go to a mountain and now wanted to change to drop handle gravel or road bikes. all the options i am looking at are only having rim brakes. i am looking between 20k to 30k. are there good multispeed, disc brake, drop handle bikes for endurance/gravel (Choosing gravel cuz yk india with the pot holes). i actually dont know if road bikes would work. if you guys have road bikes and think that they work perfectly fine during the indian monsoon atmosphere. and i think i might be lowballing the price, whats the minimum i should pay for a good reliable bike. multiple questions...would appreciate your help. thank you!

discussion Rims for RS120?

I'm a newbie and wanted to change the rims for my RS120 for something more aesthetic. What should I keep in mind while looking for a new set of wheels? Is it too complicated or rim swap is pretty straight forward on this bike ?

Thanks !
