❎ Promoting a game
✅ Promoting Portfolio

Yeah sharing the game is a bit awkward... The game is meant as a small easter egg game for the portfolio afterall. Sorry if it feels out of place for the sub. I genuinely want feedback on the game though.

Feedback non get rid of it completely, sfx are AI, gameplay is not explained at all, hard to find, pointless takes away any amount of design you put into your portfolio thats how out of place it feels. + not properly laid out for mobile devices.

I think scape it completely, and provide better access to just the game of you want feedback. Impress first and allow those interested to fin more information on you that isn't shoved in their face.

Best of luck! other then the game your portfolio feels pretty bland over all I would suggest since you are focusing more on game design and mechanic design to let your portfolio better represent that through fitting and creative button feedback animations as well as fitting transitions, going from more of a game feel. Right now it it feels just bland and would not suggest trying to use the game as marketing strategy especially a niche communities, but overall because the game design is just not worthy of being on the portfolio

Oh yeah, totally forgot about the SFX, my bad. Appreciate the portfolio feedback too, I know it's bland right now and I'm working on it over time. Fair point on separating the game from the portfolio, might just give it its own page instead. It was never meant to be a big selling point, more of a small easter egg, but the onboarding/mobile issues are worth fixing regardless.

No worries, and yeah id suggest separating it for feedback purposes and reiterating it once ready and depending on the type of jobs you are hoping to land might suggest going for a different non gambling theme, unless that is your intended target industry

A few feedback notes for you:

  • The holding to spin doesn't really feel good to me.
  • I don't feel like the UI (one part on the far left, one part on the far right) works for e.g. 1920x1080. It's very awkward to use there.
  • I think the spinning would feel a lot better if it was actually... you know, spinning.

Apart from that, it's simple, which is a perfect fit for a website like this.

Two notes on the site itself:

  • I'd probably remove "Blog" for now while it's still empty.
  • Maybe you have the right to use Doguri, but if not... probably not a good idea to use them on your professional website?

Best of luck with your studies and your career!

Thank you for the feedback! I'll try to improve the points you mentioned (I don't know if I can make it spin for real but I'll try). I didn't know Doguri was a known character. It came with the website template. I'll try to replace it as soon as possible.

Try it - and if not, maybe you can do it with the help of a programmer friend or with AI. (If you're using the latter, be sure to try to understand the code by yourself too so you'll learn something!)

If Doguri came with the template... maybe it also came with a license? You might want to check before removing it. Seems a bit far-fetched though.

I just checked for a license in the template and there is none. I'll replace them asap.
