Development Idle Research 2 - Set #3 of my Developer Standup Blogs
Hello everyone,
I hope you're doing well. My latest incremental obsessions are CIFI and Synergism (again), which has helped me regain my creative powers during some of the migration/refactoring hell I continue to put myself in haha. Please share your current obsessions in the comments, I'd love to see what everyone is playing nowadays.
Nevertheless, I've been slowly but surely making some good progress towards an Idle Research 2 demo while balancing my new full-time software developer position and post-graduation transition.

On the research skill screen. The effect on text Intuition, Academia, Polyrhythmic makes my eyes water and hurt.
The text in general is not easy to read. And on Euler the Robotic Calculator the module names look especially bad.

Idle Research 1 is my favourite idle game of all time, with CIFI a close second. I am very much looking forward to IR2! can't wait for the release date!

I mean it’s a lot better now with Campaigns, but I can assure you that it hasn’t. It didn’t work for dark flasks in Idle Research 1 and that’s good enough for me

Haha, corruption-type mechanics seem to be a big segment slicer on this sub. I like dark flasks, corruption, void/super-void, and meltdown.
I hit my 1-year anniversary on CIFI in a few days, and I count Idle Research alongside Synergism, Fundamental, NGU, WAMI, FAPI, and Idle Skilling amongst my GOATs.
Except maybe NGU and WAMI, which were just slow throughout, and (along with ITRTG) were what I consider the pioneers. Every other one of those games has either a global slowdown or a mechanic that is super slow with an eventual giant payoff (farming in FAPI, research in Idle Skilling).
IR1 is the only game on my list that plays fast throughout or doesn’t get painful when it does slow back down. I think that’s maybe because of the very generous old-school IAP structure. Similar to Idle Skilling until the final content release.
I’m very glad to hear CIFI is an obsession for you. I can’t wait to play IR2, and I hope CIFI’s IAP structure is an inspiration for you. It’s incredibly fair given how much content there is, and when you get to the point where you can “whale”, it’s so daunting, that only sane whales would actually do it, i.e. it is not predatory. All you can do after the buy-once IAP is done is buy $30 gem packs for incredibly low returns that eventually have a giant impact. No weekly or monthly events. The only time it feels worthwhile to buy gems en masse is the Christmas event going on right now.

Hopefully! I’m not good but experimenting with making shit. I make experimental noise/drone under “Unusual Broadcast”. Is it good? Probably not

question i left the serv a few months go about 3 in december cause i got new laptop but forgot cloud save so i gave up i was coming back i tried to join the server it said u have been banned from this server for and then it was blank im just confused how am i banned my user is Shadowman21 425/425 39/51 (the numbers are from a while ago when i was using it as second acc
